Oregon Ducks 2013

IMO that's where people get in trouble against Oregon.....they attempt to shut down their offense. The best way to shut down their offense is to control the line of scrimage and keep them off the field with your offense. It messes up their offensive rhythm and wears their d down. We have the o-line to do this. I'm not calling a victory over them, but I think we have the ingridients to really disrupt what they wanna do with our o-line. And I damn sure ain't gonna call it a victory for them.

You are exactly right. K-State was doing this with 3 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter and they should have gone up 17-15 or, at the very least, gone into the half down 15-13, with getting the ball back at the beginning of the 2nd half. Oregon got the ball after the missed FG with decent field position and quickly marched down the field with 1 minute to go in the half. The missed field goal did them in and they lost all momentum, IMO. K-State had the recipe to beat them, but it quickly changed and that is very scary.

I hope Kelly stays I don't want them to have any excuses when we take them to the woodshed this year.

How's this, Vol fans...Haslam hires C.Kelly to coach the Browns & Texas brings Saban to Austin? Stranger things have happened. Regardless, I look forward to UT going to Eugene next fall; likely to get clocked, but it'll be a good measurement.

I heard through my sources that Gruden plans to take the Oregon job if Kelly leaves. He's been studying Kelly's offense so the transition will be smooth. Phil Knight has already promised him total control of the program and the Nike vaults are open for any assistants he wants. TIFWIW, DSTM.

Oregon will be the better team, but even the better team can lose.

Does it matter? Derek Dooley could coach the Ducks and they'd still...... no we'd beat them in that instance.

I just hope they lose as many players & coaches as possible because it might be like watching my little brother getting beat by his bully next year

WOW they looked good last night & with our slow defense it would be a long day

Yeah, this will undoubtedly be an ugly loss for us next year I don't care who the coach is. They have blistering speed. Only a dominate defense can stop those guys; just being realistic. :(

To quote a posting legend.

How did you find that thread? I've looked multiple times, trying to relive it and all of its glory, but couldn't find it. That one was a gem for sure. Wish that guy made a thread for every game of the season. He was a troll but it was still hillarious.

If Chip leaves I don't think there will be much change with the Ducks. They have a system that works.

Man I have to disagree with you on that. Chip Kelly is one of the top 3-5 coaches in college football IMO. That's like saying there wouldn't be much of a change at Alabama, if Nick Saban left and Kirby Smart was promoted, because their system would not change. If you lose a great coach their will be some negative consequences, ala USC losing Pete Carroll, Arkansas losing Bobby Petrino, etc.

Oregon is an illusion. They're not strong on the lines and they win on opponent's lack of discipline. If you maintain your gaps and keep them in front of you, they're in trouble. It's just their speed at skill positions that kills people. Their defense isn't much better than the vols' talent wise. A well coached UT team can beat them and probably soundly.

He's interviewing with 3 different NFL teams today. Browns, Bills, Eagles. He's as good as gone. He won't be there next year. I have a feeling he's pulling a Pete Carrol and hitting the road before the NCAA comes calling.

Barner is gone. N I think they are losing a top lb and wr. Not positive.

We can hope that whatever NFL team hires CCK away from Oregon will also give him enough $$$$ to pay his entire coaching staff so much $$$ that they'll all leave Oregon too and the quackers will have to start all over again.

If I was the Ducks OC and had the choice of becoming the Ducks HC or earning $1 Million more per year as a OC in the NFL then I'd take the extra $1 Million per year and head to the NFL.

Best deal would be Haslam hiring nick saTan and another NFL team taking CK from Oregon and both schools get bad HC hires and we Win both games.

A man has to dream, right?

VFL...GBO!!!
