I would love to go to that game. I just don't see it happening. I hope UT represents well.

room is booked ill be there

Ever been out here? If you'd like some insights into the area let me know. Just like Tenn only a little different, Oregon is a beautiful place with tons of outdoor activities.

To give you an idea, the Willamette River runs near Autzen stadium and I use to pack my fly rod when I'd go to games. Rather than wait in a line of cars exiting the parking lot after a game, I'd on occasions pull my fly rod out go down and fish for a half hour while the lot cleared out. Then drive home without waiting in traffic.

Man, I really wish I could make it to that game. Here's to hoping it's not a total thrashing. :toast:

I'm proud to give you your first "like" on VN. Glad you're around, post often.

Thanks for the "like" it's always more fun to have reasonable conversations between fans and learn from each other than talking trash as all that does is cut off learning and communications.

Just like any program, Oregon has some pretty big trash talkers so as we get closer to game time I imagine you'll see some on here. As Oregon fans, we try and monitor and educate those (typically newbies or imposters from Oregon State and the Univ of Washington) that make inflammatory statements.

Husky fans are infamous for this behavior. Yea we don't like each other very much.

I'm reconsidering.

Husband and I will be making the trip to Oregon from Charlotte. We have heard that part of the country is beautiful and are looking forward to it. Met some cool Oregon fans when they came to K-town. Hope to see a great game. Go Vols!!!!

I hate the University of Oregon a lot, but you have to respect them for who they are. Great school, but I hope Sonny Dykes brings Cal back.

I have a friend that lives here in TN that is from Oregon and a big Ducks fan. Me and him were just talking the other day about how neat it would be to go watch this game. Not sure we will make it though.

I enjoy other fans on this site as long as they respect that they're on our site, not their own, and I'd expect the same if I went over to their sites. So thanks for the sportsmanship. :good!:

But I will say, the only thing I don't like about Oregon (so far, and that's because I've never had a reason to dislike U.O.) is that Nike gives y'all some truly gosh-awful, nasty-ass uniforms, and for some reason, the players eat it up. :p

The McKenzie River is well known for fly fishing, I've been fishing it for over 30 years. Helfrich River Trips, McKenzie River Fishing, Oregon Fishing Guides, Helfrich Fishing Trips

You'll notice Helfrich is spelled the same as the head coach at Oregon. Same family, I've used their guide service many times. The Wayfarer Inn on the McKenzie is sort of funky, not to far from Eugene, I believe Truman use to stay there when he fished the McKenzie. This river really requires fishing from a McKenzie drift boat, bank fishing is not easily done.

Then you've got the Umpqua River just south east, (about an hour and a 20 from Eugene) place called Steamboat Inn, excellent food and facilities. Steelhead will give you all the fight you want if you hook into one. This is a river you can fish from the trails along the river. Zane Grey use to stay here and fish. He wasn't exactly respected by the locals. He'd hire a guy to stake out his favorite fishing hole and run anyone off that tried to fish there.

Then the Willamette, has some monsters. Typically near my place I get into native rainbows around 14 inches pretty regular. My wife got a 18" native last summer and a neighbor got a 24" native.

Those uniforms were all about recruiting and marketing the university. I've grown to like them. Between the great facilities and edgy image the U of O has created, recruiting is going better. Still have plenty to improve on.

Seriously considering making the drive down from Seattle. Are there any places to stay in Eugene, or is it pretty booked up already? How much s*** will I get for wearing a UW hat with my UT jersey?
