Oregon game - Who's coming to the game?

Also wanted to ask, is there a section that is generally set aside for visiting fans?

I was accepted to law school up there and almost enrolled just to watch the game. I had to follow a different path sadly.

I hope Tennessee represents well; Oregon fans were nothing but great when they traveled down to Knoxville.

I enjoy other fans on this site as long as they respect that they're on our site, not their own, and I'd expect the same if I went over to their sites. So thanks for the sportsmanship. :good!:

But I will say, the only thing I don't like about Oregon (so far, and that's because I've never had a reason to dislike U.O.) is that Nike gives y'all some truly gosh-awful, nasty-ass uniforms, and for some reason, the players eat it up. :p

I actually like some of their uni's although a couple are pretty hideous. Wouldn't mind seeing Phil Knight throw some orange and white on those suckers and see how they turn out. And I agree smo, OP is much different (in a good way) than most rival fans on this board.

I'm sure they are great when playing a non-rival. There are always a few knuckleheads who are not so great with Washington fans.

Already bought my tickets I was stoked when I saw the Vols were coming out here to play.

So you're up in Washington, are you coming down the day before? Game day will be slow going on I-5 from Portland to Eugene. At least OSU isn't playing at home that day so it won't be nearly as bad. It could be a bit like Sea-Tac area for traffic. I'd recommend coming down a day a head, tailgate and relax before game time.

Have a buddy from Aloa who my son and I will be staying with. Can't wait!

Check my note about driving I-5 from Portland area on game day. Also, remember on the return trip some people may have consumed some beverages so watch out for them as well as the state police. The Staters like to make "budget" after Duck games if you know what I mean.

Actually, they are pretty good about getting the drunks off the road and keeping it safe for everyone. Just a word of caution.

Its Oregon dude, hit the Hookah Bars. :cool2:

Ok, admittedly Animal House was filmed on campus and the "Blues Brothers" was started by Curtis Salgato while preforming at the Eugene Hotel. I'm not going to deny that MJ is around in Oregon, of course I think it would be difficult to find some place where it wasn't available.

On the positive side, Oregon just landed the 2014 Olympic Track & Field trials again. Love the event, no place better for it in the USA.

I don't think Oregon has Hookah Bars. I believe Washington and Colorado have legalized MJ.

I'll be there, Ducks. Do you have any hotels or areas to stay that you would recommend? We would like to be relatively close to the stadium but more importantly close to restaurants/bars/etc.

I was just playing and having fun with it but weed is pretty popular in Oregon, even with the football program. I'm sure at other schools too but Oregon got a bit of press out of it.

I'm moving to Seattle this fall for grad school so this is the only game I get to see next year

Also, is the Amtrak Cascades train a good way to get down there from Seattle or is it just more trouble than it's worth? Thought it might be kind of fun to not worry about driving.

Oregon has a ton of Hookah bars, it's a legislative loophole that allows smoking indoors, but you definitely aren't allowed to smoke pot, only flavored charcoal/tobacco.

Washington did indeed legalize MJ, but it's only legal to consume in private, so no head shop/hookah bars yet. Actually, you can't legally buy it in WA yet, but in December the state is supposed to begin opening state run pot shops.

Shirley and I are seriously thinking to coming. Originally, it was out of the question but matters seem to be aligning in a way that will allow us to be there. Does anyone know if the parking garage next to Market Square will be free to the public as it as on regular game days?

Last time I was in Knoxville I got curious about the fly fishing in the rivers near the stadium. And the area in general.

I could be wrong, but back when I was at UT, you did not want to eat anything that you caught in the Tennessee river....perhaps it's gotten cleaner in the last few years.

You don't want to touch the fish from 2nd or 3rd creek or the TN river around Neyland trust me

Is there a Market Square in Eugene? If not, that will be a killer walk to the game.

Hope you have a good time at the game! And don't call me Shirley...
