Oregon game - Who's coming to the game?

I'll be there, Ducks. Do you have any hotels or areas to stay that you would recommend? We would like to be relatively close to the stadium but more importantly close to restaurants/bars/etc.

Best way to get to the games is via mass transit. They have "Park and Ride" around town for about $8. Great way to get to and from the game. Hotels downtown, Hilton and Inn at Fifth Ave both should work well also, Cambell House B&B is pretty good. Additionally you'lPll find a lot of places along Franklin Blvd that give easy access to Autzen Stadium if you don't mind about a mile walk.

I don't drink any more so I don't know the bar scene. Saturday morning the "farmers market/artist fair will be going in the downtown blocks. However, Oregon is known for it's micro brews and wineries, so no shortage in those areas. I'll check and see if I can be of more help after I talk with a couple people.

Also, is the Amtrak Cascades train a good way to get down there from Seattle or is it just more trouble than it's worth? Thought it might be kind of fun to not worry about driving.

Honestly I wouldn't trust them to get you to Eugene in time for a game in 2014 let alone 2013. They seem to break down and "bus" people way too much. Maybe a day ahead of time with no time pressure. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be as fast as a car. I'd fly first.

I'm dying to go. Think it could be hellacious party. But airfare like $450-500.

Is that what you all have found?

I'd check flights to Portland and consider driving down. You might find better rates to PDX, as it's a larger airport.

You don't want to touch the fish from 2nd or 3rd creek or the TN river around Neyland trust me

The Knoxville area is quite beautiful. Around Eugene, you'll find mountains much larger than those back east (Yes to someone from Oregon, Tenn is in the "East"). If it's east of the Mississippi, it's east, if it's east of the Rockies, it's a bit east.

I'm hoping to drive down from Portland. I'm very interested to see what Autzen stadium is like, compared to Neyland. Of course, I haven't been to Neyland in a long time so it's a lot different now than when I went to school there in the mid 80's.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'll be driving and staying Saturday night also.

So you're up in Washington, are you coming down the day before? Game day will be slow going on I-5 from Portland to Eugene. At least OSU isn't playing at home that day so it won't be nearly as bad. It could be a bit like Sea-Tac area for traffic. I'd recommend coming down a day a head, tailgate and relax before game time.

Yea I'm coming down Friday and chilling and hanging out.

Those uniforms were all about recruiting and marketing the university. I've grown to like them. Between the great facilities and edgy image the U of O has created, recruiting is going better. Still have plenty to improve on.

Oh I know. I was just giving you a hard time. :)

Neyland stands up Very Very TALL compared to Autzen, plus it seats about twice as many. Autzen is dug into the ground and basically sits in a hole. I think Michigan is the same way.

Seating in Neyland appears to be very "steep" compared to Autzen. The new facelift at Neyland looks much nicer with all that steel hidden. Great improvement.

Autzen is one of the few stadiums in the country where the field runs "East West" rather than North South. This is a bit of a factor in Sept games when the sun starts setting and receivers have to look back into the sun to find the ball. The roof does shadow part of the field on occasions and this can be difficult for receivers if they are going from sun to shade trying to catch the ball.

Also visit either or both the Moshofsky Center (indoor practice facility/beer garden) or PK Park (baseball stadium next to Autzen) for the outdoor beer garden. Both have plenty of jumbo screens. The one at PK park is sort of cool, get a beer and sit in center field and watch highlights.

I think we average around 106% of capacity for home games. Trust me Tenn will be sold out. Usually sell several thousand standing room only tickets for games against BCS schools.

On Stubhub Standing Room Only tickets are going for about $87 (not really an option for myself, wife and daughter). Seats (nosebleed??) are going for $110+. I'm kind of hoping to find someone I know that has season tickets but can't go.....wishing might be more accurate. :)

I enjoy other fans on this site as long as they respect that they're on our site, not their own, and I'd expect the same if I went over to their sites. So thanks for the sportsmanship. :good!:

But I will say, the only thing I don't like about Oregon (so far, and that's because I've never had a reason to dislike U.O.) is that Nike gives y'all some truly gosh-awful, nasty-ass uniforms, and for some reason, the players eat it up. :p

Oregon's uniforms are ballin out man
