We should use cp like Oregon uses number six.

How do they know what play to run?

I'm not sure even Alabama would be able to slow Oregon down. I don't know how you stop that offense. They will score as many as they want on us next year. I wish we could get Chip Kelly but with the Nike money there is no way he is leaving Orgeon.

Oregon will struggle blocking Bama's defensive line. Bama has sound LBs and great corners. I think they will be just fine against Oregon if they play.

On the other side, Bama's OL will demolish Oregon up front. Lacy and Yeldon will make it look easy for the entire game.

Oregons offense isn't unstoppable if you have weeks to prepare for them.

Facing the ducks mid season and in a bowl game are two entirely different things.

I don't think Monte Kiffins defensive works very well in the NCAA.

Not as bad as Sals but not in the same clas
s as Chiefs or Sabans.

6:41 to go and Oregon has hung 55 on USC .

Honestly, little from the NFL translates to college ball.

NFL defenses base on nearly 20 coverages where most college teams base on four.

This is the Ducks we're talking about... I honestly think that mid-season, they can put the speed limit on any team in the country, Bama included.

I have to believe this.

Florida - Oklahoma
Auburn - Oregon
Giants - Patriots

Whoever beat the Vikings when they were setting offensive records.

Rams are about the only team that won purely on offense that I recall going the distance.

Auburn's defense wasn't even very good and even they held Oregon to 19. I would have to think Alabama could slow Oregon down too with time to prepare.

I'm sure Saban will figure it out with time to prepare but I won't be convinced until I see it. There are flat out wicked on offense and the QB is just a freshman. I see a bunch of teams lobbying the NCAA for a couple of rules changes to try and slow them down.

See TOP's post. There is an abundance of precedent for this. If the Ducks and Bama were to play for the title the week after conference championship week, then it would be a really good game.

With, what, 60 days between conference championship week and the title game, Bama would make short work of them.

One more thing re: Oregon's defense, it's still essentially the same as when they played Auburn for the BCSMNC, and kept Cam Newton in check, or at least did a better job against him than Alabama did.

Kenjon Barner is ridiculous.

where is milo??...he said oregon has a defense...ummm really man they do??

11 point win for the Ducks, and they had ten points off turnovers.

Their defense serves the same purpose as their offense: Maximize the number of plays run. And they did that excellently well tonight.

I'm not sure why people insist on this "prep time" argument while completely ignoring TALENT.

Oregon's bowl game losses have come at the hands of some great game-changing players. We had no answer for Fairley, and Cam was damn difficult to stop, as you SECers can attest to. If Bama and Oregon meet, and Bama convincingly wins, it won't be because of the lay off - it will be because of the pile of NFLers on the field.
