Oregon vs USC

I'm not sure why people insist on this "prep time" argument while completely ignoring TALENT.

Oregon's bowl game losses have come at the hands of some great game-changing players. We had no answer for Fairley, and Cam was damn difficult to stop, as you SECers can attest to. If Bama and Oregon meet, and Bama convincingly wins, it won't be because of the lay off - it will be because of the pile of NFLers on the field.

This bama defense is not last years bama defense...LSU just proved that and I cannot believe I need oregon to finish undefeated now ugh...I hate bama

11 point win for the Ducks, and they had ten points off turnovers.

Their defense serves the same purpose as their offense: Maximize the number of plays run. And they did that excellently well tonight.

The defense had looked much better prior to Saturday night. We clearly did not prepare that well schematically for what USC threw at us, namely - Nelson Agholor in the slot which we matched up very poorly with. That said Marqise Lee is probably the best player in college football, whether or not he wins the Heisman, and if you combine him with a 5th year senior who will be NFLing next year, Woods, and Agholor who is next up, *and* they come out focused and hungry? they are going to move the damn ball on anybody in the country. That was a perfect storm, and we're not going to contend with anybody like that for the rest of the season, either before or during the post-season. We also lost three of our key defensive linemen throughout the course of the game.
