They got upset because he said Muslims attacked us on 9/11. They acted like immature children.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them getting their panties all bunched up.

When O'Reilly made the comment that "Muslims attacked us on 9/11" he did it for a reason, which was to antagonize people and get a reaction. He knows full well that such an oversimplification is not accurate and he is begging to be called out on it.

That's what is show is about and it's fine for him to feed the fears and anti-intelllectualism of the mouthbreathers who watch his show. But when he did that on that show, he got exactly what he wanted which is controversy.

Had he stated all Muslims attacked us on 9-11 the outrage would have been justified. The statement he made is 100% factually correct. All that any of those hens had to do was make the distinction that it was more specifically extremist Muslims and O'Reilly would have agreed and that's the end of the story. It was blown way out of proportion and I think the only person who had it right ultimately was Walters.

I am beginning to wonder whether people who say that it was an Islamic or Muslim attack say that just to be a pain in the ass and look like idiots, or whether they really are idiots who are truly so unsophisticated as not to be able to wrap their minds around even the tiniest complexity in the world.

I'm not sure what's complex about asking you a simple yes/no question about whether the attacks were in any form related to the Islamic beliefs of the attackers.
