Orson Charles (announcing at 4:30 pm EST)

well i hope your wrong on this one.

Moving a guy who is 6-2 and can't block a DE or blitzing LB is necessary when he can out jump most if not all the guys we have at WR right now. Moving a 6-8 guy who isn't really that fast and can't stretch the field to a spot where he athleticism can be harnessed and he can have a career is genius. Kiffin doesn't us a TE very often in his offense, IIRC.

Me to I hope this guy is an idiot with no source (schubert) and he starts singing rockytop at his press conference.

all the brilliant recruiting prognosticators are merely picking UGA at this point because it is the safest bet...

Charles has always been considered a UGA lean...that is all they are going on

I know and agree 100% with you but why was Warrens move such a media magnet. Is it because we suck so bad at WR?

Yeah...this is definitely a cop out on their part...

The funny thing to me is that most of them cite the "best friend" connection with Aaron Murray as the reason for this "lean"...

But Charles only played with Murray for one season and has basically said that 1.) his relationship with Murray isn't that tight and 2.) whatever that relationship is it won't effect his decision...

Yet the 'experts" are still using it as the reason that they think he's a UGA lean....brilliant!!

The recruiting mods haven't had him to UGA at all. I think everyone at Rivals would be stunned if he goes outside Tennessee and SoCal.

I'm always going back to his quote in this article where he says "us", as in UT. I just don't see recruits saying these things if they don't see themselves playing for that school.

You factor in the Lynch situation with UGA, UGA telling 2010 QB recruit Sims that they are thinking of moving Mettenberger to TE, UT moving Warren to WR, Douglas to OT which means UT hasn't signed a TE in 3 classes, and this all leads to him signing with UT.

If his heart and prayers lead him to UGA, that's one thing, but his mind should lead him to UT, because we have the best opportunity for him imo.

Sorry but I want our players hearts to be here with their minds. No heart equals no emotion.

I'm with you, but what I'm saying is Richt has the heartstrings pull for kids who are religious. Charles routinely is quoted as saying he'll pray for this, pray for that, and that leads me to believe UGA will be a tough battle on that front.

We all know Richt has God on his side :)...just ask Marlon Brown's grandma

I strongly disagree. Now there is a story on Douglas moving to T on ESPN. Yeah you move some guys out of necessity, but you don't talk to the media about it generally. It just happens and is picked up on eventually. This is a clear signal to Orson Charles that the coaches back up what they tell him. I think it also signals that the coaches feel like they are behind on Orson at this point. Might swing him our way might not. Depends on how big of a pull UGA is.

Also I disagree with it being between UGA and USC. USC is not in this race really. They are on his list because of the visit buzz. Distance will play a factor there.

This is just something that has been released as a depth chart procedure and happens every spring and fall. Our local media has usually always been informed of moves like this. Even if it's a play to get Charles, I believe that Charles will be a WR here anyways since traditionally Kiffin doesn't use the TE much in the passing game. I could be wrong about how he uses them, but I don't remember that position being one of star power at USC when he was there or since. The TE is not used very much for other than blocking.

Meant to put Byrd, have no idea why I typed Boyd. DB pulled in one of the best one handed graps I've ever seen.

imo, charles will eventually move to WR. just my opinion. I think stocker will have a breakout year.

Kiffin utilized the TE fairly often. Those in bold are TE's.

He told me in a text message that he hopes to make his decision March 6.
I have thought for the past month or so that Georgia is the team to beat, and I still favor the Bulldogs. But I know Tennessee made a good impression on him and that he also liked USC.

Kiffin utilzes TEs a decent amount. Dominique Byrd was big at USC. Alex Holmes was alright. Fred Davis was with Kiffin for awhile, too. Zach Miller was OK for Oakland, too. Oops. I see someone already pointed this out.

after all the drama.. I can say that the only recruit i want.. is charles.. I really think he will be an asset if we get him and I definitely do not want him going to UGA...

I hope he signs with us.. OKU I could care less about and Brown would be nice but I don't see it happening..
