Biggest winners of the night: Mad Max, The Revenant, Inarritu (has anyone ever won back-to-back Best Director awards?), and the unflappable Leo (hardest I've ever cheered at an Oscar's win).

Biggest losers of the night: Chris Rock's performance (too so-so on humor and too political), overall show (again, too so-so on humor and too much compensation for lack of minority nominees), and non-black minority actors/actresses (Hispanics, Asians, and other non-black minorities were essentially invisible; you would have thought that only black and white people exist in this year's Oscars alternate universe), and whoever did Mad Max's music/score and visual effects (both got robbed; Mad Max should have swept the special categories awards).

Mad Max was the best film of the year, but Ex Machina deserved the Oscar for visual effects just as much as Max, imo.

Why does no one ever complain about white exclusion at the BET awards?

It's a show created to recognize artists who are otherwise marginalized / ignored by mainstream award shows. White people aren't necessarily excluded, it's just not about them.

Do you see alabama players complaining about not being recognized at the volympics?

Because no one gives a sh## about the BET awards.

....this is also true. It's nice to be recognized by your peers but there are levels to be considered.

How often has a movie won best picture as its only award? I don't have a definitive answer, but it looks like just 3. That's crazy.

I feel like Mad Max or Revenant should have won, but they don't like action movies and Innaritu's movie won last year.

It's pathetic.

Also, your peers can only be of the same color?

Man they are going overboard with the number of AAs onstage tonight. The white guilt is oozing. Even finishing the evening with Public Enemy

Were there really any more than usual? I didn't see anyone that presented that seemed like someone that necessarily wouldn't present, other than LG Jr. but that was just to introduce the dead people.

I wonder how Jada Pinkett Smith feels today considering even Chris Rock made fun of her.

White people have actually won some BET awards.

Yeah, it's weird that people would think there is some sort of double standard there. It's the black entertainment awards...the Oscars are not the white entertainment awards. They are supposed to be for everybody.

Is Hollywood racist? In the sense that they might have prejudicial hatred?...no. Of course not. Are they racist in the sense that movies are a white man's game? Totally. Part of it is white is the biggest group of movie-goers, so of course a bulk of entertainment is going to be tailored to whites, but then there are weird things that Hollywood does...like it's common for white men to be romantically involved with black women, but the reverse in movies is fairly rare...

I knew this would happen. I cringed the second I heard Leo let that climate change slip out of his mouth. My favorite Oscar win in as long as I can remember is ruined by everyone hating on him today. Man he owns a yacht that burns diesel like no other and as the pic above states he flies in jets. Hate it for him, but still glad he won. If you have FB you can't scroll more than a second without seeing people calling him a hypocrite.

I almost think not a single thing any of these guys say even comes from them. It's like they all get told to throw some agenda out there since there are so many viewers.

It wasn't. ..in the race to point out white gulit, sdv revealed his own knee jerk response. They opened the show with the same song. Chris spent the night clowning people on both sides of the argument.

I'm sure the Smith's will take it in stride. Unless of course, xenu had a problem with the show too.

Spotlight won two awards. Best Picture, and Original Screenplay.

What? Sorry, I wasn't trying to depict his contributions. I was showing the hypocrisy.

The meme is ridiculous because it attempts to undercut the contributions of one of our great contributors to raising awareness about Climate Change.

Look, he sits up there and judges corporate greed and people that are unwilling to change their habits, but he is unwilling to change his habits. He can just pay for carbon offsets and raise money and feel good about himself, but the bottom line is he is not willing to give up private jets because he wants comfort.

To achieve the world he wants to realize, basically all the little people have to give up on some of our comforts. We aren't zillionaires. Corporations are just giving us what we want (more comfortable lives). **** his judgment. No matter how much he gives to the cause, he could still give up his private jets and urge other rich guys too. He's accustomed to his lifestyle and he doesn't want to make that sacrifice. Again, **** his judgment.

I don't see him calling out the government. The government is the biggest polluter.
