OSU ‘Keep the Orange Out” message board.

Tennessee going up there and end Ohio States season on their field with almost half that stadium dressed in orange is what I asked Santa for when I was 8. Almost 4 decades later, and the man may come through.
I’ve lived up here for 6 of the last 8 years, so I’ve been hoping for this matchup a long time. Never expected that my Vols would be going into Columbus itself though. Next best thing to us hosting from where I sit, tough draw notwithstanding.

In reality, Ohio State along with ND have always been teams I despised the most. I just never liked them for a variety of reasons (my MD hate cooked down significantly over the years). Started with Andy Katzenmoyer probably, then the cleat thing in 96, John Cooper's sour grapes in 98 after his team didn't get to play the title game because Saban beat them late on season, then it just kept growing. I can identify with living in hostile territory as I used to live in Kentucky for years and those games were always cricked on the calendar.

Let me translate “Dear media, it should not tarnish our image that 35 percent of the stadium is going to be orange at this important home game. The process was unfair and unjust to mighty OSU.We are still the very best of everything.”

Funnily enough, the vibe I get toward UT up here is either indifference or slight fondness. They’ve developed some significant animosity toward Bama over the last decade or so, and that makes them look at us favorably.

For my part, I have in-laws whom I like who are big Bucks fans, plus church people and whatnot. They’re a fellow blueblood whom we happen to have a 1-0 record against. If I could I’d root for them a little, but I just can’t bring myself to do it unless they’re playing one of our rivals or it benefits UT in some way (I may have uttered an O-H or two when they were whooping up on Indiana). I couldn’t stop the ear-to-ear grin that spread across my face as they lost to Michigan though. 😆

Edit: And I don’t know if I can forgive them for Ruggles missing that field goal in 2022 and letting UGA win their 2nd in a row. 🙄

I believe he moved to Nashville.
Don’t know if he still lives there.
Herbie & his family moved to this area several years ago. I think his son is/was a teammate of George MacIntrye at Brentwood Academy. This is his Franklin residence, I believe.

Herbs’ concerns for his family’s safety and chances for a somewhat normal life are reasons he wouldn’t live in Columbus. He elected to live in the greater Nashville area.

Herbstreit also had an issue with ladies outside of marriage in Columbus. He was known to hit up Cool Beans back in late 90’s/early 2000’s and leave with co-eds.

Back in my early football fanship, on any given Saturday, the teams on TV would be Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, and UCLA. It almost turns my stomach to watch any of them on TV now. If it's a game that would benefit Tennessee in some way, I might watch it, but I can always watch the ticker as I watch someone else playing.

bigorangepoppa you and I must be about the same age. Same here. I also add Oklahoma and Nebraska in there because I always thought they were overrated.
