Craigslist has a free section. I've been watching some dumpster diving haul videos on Youtube and people seem to find some great stuff that way.

Make dinner for her, take a shower, dress up a little, and dance with her in kitchen, women love that stuff.
This. Bust out the chores. Give her the day or weekend off or something.

Thanks for the help everyone and mods thanks for letting this thread stay on the main forum as long as you did.

@vols_fan_68 it's kinda creepy how close our handles resemble each other.

Two. 4 and 1. Both girls.

Something like this is easy to make. Come up with something sweet (a good quotation perhaps?), and print it on nice paper with some nice clip art or a photo and have the kids’ handprints on it. Then get a cheap frame.

I know that’s kinda vague, but hopefully the link with trigger an idea specific to your situation. Point is, make it about your kids and making a keepsake about them as they are right now. I bet she’ll love it.

Ok, so we don't have a Christmas tree yet. She's been wanting one of those pre-lit trees from Home Depot for a few years but we've gone the cheap route in previous years with hand-me-down trees and real trees. The hand-me-down is not longer with us, so I'm going to have to get something. Maybe I should just eat ramen noodles this month to get the $300 pre-lit tree she likes. Put it up in the middle of the night Thursday after she goes to bed, being careful not to wake the baby, write her a framed letter and put it under the tree in a box that also includes a picture of my wiener?
Sounds like a winner. I’d skip the tree part though.

My wife's 30th bday is Friday. I haven't got anything for her. Think she's expecting something special, but she knows we're BROKE so I gotta get creative. I SUCK AT CREATIVE. Any ideas?

Hand write a blank card. If you don't know how to give a massage, get a book and make it a birthday project to give her a nice massage. She will appreciate you very much. And finally, a dinner she doesn't have to cook. On a tight budget this should be a wonderful day for her... she will feel appreciated and loved.

Cook her dinner, Crack open a bottle of sinful libation, watch the Notebook, and you will be getting lucky that night. Trust me, this works.

Microwave up some stove top, a 40 ounce old Milwaukee to choke it down with, and a zero bar for dessert.

That's pretty inexpensive, but comes straight from the heart.

Also, the kids can eat the leftovers.

what year anniversary? Important to know before any positive replies, it does work to follow the Modern and Traditional Rules. You can ask any of my 4 X wivies. My 5th maybe coming soon....
