Louisville has no room to talk about anyone. They were stacked last season and got put out in 2nd round. Every since they have started recruiting better, their fan base have become very arrogant. You would think they've won 4 National Championships in a row. Now they're just as stack as other programs, let's see how they perform. We all know from experience stacked rosters don't guarantee championships.

As far as UConn, the two fanbases will never get along. The feeling of dislike is mutual. I can't wait until the day Geno retires and their program transitions. He won't coach forever. Let's see how they respond then. They're one arrogant bunch also and Geno is their god. He can do no wrong in their eyes. They're still wanting an apology that they'll never get. You'd think for a program that has dominated the last 4 or so years, Tennessee wouldn't even be on their minds.

I read the other boards sometimes. Seems like UCONN and Louisville thinks Westbrook is wasting her talent on us. Huh

They're afraid! They don't want us to be great again! A return to the Top where we belong hurts both programs in a sense

Add some of South Carolina fans to that list also. They have start to win and don't know how to act. But I can't to much blame them, after the team I root for was the door mat of the SEC for so long and teams flew in the day before to play them, I'll be a little over excited too. I like Dawn Staley, but let's not act like she's just some super coach that's known for developing players. They'll be back to reality soon also once they loose Wilson and Coates. No way will I go to other boards to kiss you know what. They're so happy to be accepted by UConn fans its ridiculous. Again I say Louisville have no room to talk about no one. Yes, they're getting recruits, but at what extent?

I'm looking at the Westbrook thread... one person said that it was a waste of talent.... one, but hey lets feed the UConn hate and say they all feel that way.

We'll see. A lot will depends our next signing class. It could be a huge one. As you know the real war begins in the recruiting trail. I'll just say she has won at temple and she has turned USC into what you see now after some steady improvement. Her bio looks like dissertation. Girls love player for her and just knowing her and they respect all she has done as a coach and for the game of wbb. And you can't discount her national team connections.

Don't get me wrong, I respect everything about Dawn and what she has done. I'm just saying some of your fans have gotten a little arrogant and I've read little comments where they've said negative things about Holly as if Dawn is up there with Tara, Geno, Mulkey and Muffett. No disrespect to Dawn at all. She's very respectful and I actually root for SC unless they are playing Tennessee. There's a Tennessee alum on your staff. And yes it all starts with recruiting.

I'm having a hard time understanding why some people constantly frequent this forum/website? For people to be fans of other teams they tend to frequent Vol Nation more than you would think they should. It's fine to like who you want/be a fan of who you want but I was always told if you don't like something or someone, you stay away from it. You'll never catch me wasting my time on a Maryland Board, or a Uconn Board, or a ND board, and etc. Because I could truly careless about what they are doing. Why are some of yall so worried about what UT is or is not doing and yall aren't Lady Vol fans?

I promise it's not a mystery. For Tennesseee - and yes, for Connecticut - the presence of the sport has been much bigger than it is at most places. That's been the rule for decades now. While that rule may be changing, to be sure, but they both represent epicenters where you can have more conversations about a number of topics related to women's college basketball. And a lot of people have seen things about those two schools in the media for years and year, so they have more than a passing familiarity with the teams and the players and what have you. Given that in most places you won't even find an active message board, it makes sense that they might stop by here or the BY or so on. It used to be the Summitt over on Gridscape but they locked that board down a while back to help cover their operating costs.

But anyway, it's not a mystery. They just stop by and chat for a spell, maybe longer, wanting to talk about basketball and such. I would urge everyone to be friendly and kind with them, too. It may not feel like it, but this board is as much a representation of the program as anything else. So I'd say be friendly, be kind, and unless they kick over the coffee table, let them speak up.

Yeah, I don't say negative things about another team on their own board. I don't like that. It's not being a good guest. I come here to see what is being said about USC and just read up about recruiting rumors maybe chime in once in a while not saying anything likely to get upset. I know our team's success is starting to be frustrating to the competition, but when people say stings like "Dawn is 3 year from being run out of town" while I understand the emotions of why someone would say that. I think everyone knows that is not true.

I would think the fans at SC will be really disappointed if they do not make the final 4 this year.

Very good thread and interesting responses. I am a Uconn fanatic, but also love the women's game in general - I grew up a fan of the 1960s Boston Celtics so dynasties and team basketball played mostly below the rim is what I love and WCBB is now the home of that.

I post a lot on the Boneyard and some both here and on the Baylor site (and use the same user name everywhere so my identity follows me around.) I tend to ignore the truly partisan threads and posts, though will occasionally post in those threads to try and correct mistaken 'facts'. Generally when I am on the Baylor or TN sites, I am just trying to bring a Uconn perspective to general threads about WCBB, or just my views on non-partisan subjects. I try not to be a homer, nor get involved in back and forth about 'homer' issues.

One of the commonalities that we all deal with is that Women's sports get short shrift in the media so we are a bit starved for good analysis of WCBB and news about what is happening around the country. The Uconn, Baylor, and TN boards are the most active boards out there and they are also well regulated and well policed. And the people posting in the boards really do bring a lot of information and insight to their posts. None of the boards devolve into the typical fan board flamewars that I just find boring.

And I think 'respectful fans' from other teams add a lot of value to my home Boneyard, and I try to offer the same value when I post as a visitor to other team's boards. There are always some fans who take offense with visitor comments, but here and on the Baylor site i find more fans who defend visitors than might be expected elsewhere on the internet. I try to do the same when Boneyard posters overreact to visitor posts there. We WCBB fans remain a minority in the broader sports universe and we often have much more in common than we disagree upon.

Just one more comment - I have never been to a fan board that did not contain a bunch of arrogance and cockiness, including this one. If you want to be offended by other team's fans being fanatics, you will find tons of ammunition on their boards. If you get upset by that, I think that is on you. If it surprises anyone, they are being naive!

We all have dreams about our teams and express the belief that our _____ is so much better than your ____. That Muffet says her PG is the best PG in the country is not breaking news. That her fans believe her and repeat it on their board is to be expected. Get annoyed if they come and brag on your board, but let them wallow in their delusions on their own board! :)

I think it's interesting to see perspectives from fans of different schools; I only post on the various Gamecock message boards, the Boneyard and occasionally on here, however. In MBB and FB I will occasionally post on rivals' boards, as well. In WBB there aren't a lot of fan bases that care about the sport, however.
