All teams go through a down phase. We rolled up 6-7 straight wins on you all. What stinks about being at the top is there is only one way to go and that is down. Enjoy these current memories. U all bout to be kiffined

I had the misfortune of playing linebacker against you 3 times in high school.

Nice to see a former Vol on here posting, especially one who juked me out of my shoes on more than one occasion. :hi:

We need stability. We can't go through firing coaches yet. Our team needs consistency. So although I am not to sure bout jancek, butch did right in keeping him. Players need to see that coaches r loyal and confident in their own system.

Good players can cover up deficiencies in other areas, as you probably know.

Not at all. I was saying "this sucks." Or variations on that theme.

But 12 1/2 years have passed since the worst of it, and I'm left with only memories of that suckage.

Juvenile not to realize FB success comes in cycles. Will you be around here in a few years? No...You will be on whatever bama message board looking for hope saying "this sucks" and thinking " I miss rubbing bama's success in, especially on rival teams message boards".
It's coming BW. Kiffin will quicken the cycle.

The two posts immediately following the one you quoted:

And at some point you will return to it. Both of our teams are cyclical.

That's undoubtedly true. Every team is cyclical to some degree.

OOPS! Doesn't it suck when you respond to a post from several hours ago and accuse somene of "not realizing" something, when you could have read the next two posts and seen that same poster acknowledge the very thing he "doesn't realize"?

Way to herp and derp your way through a really biting criticism. I don't know how I'll every recover from such a sick burn.

No apologies to you and it really doesn't suck(bama troll)....only tells me that I shouldn't be so quick to make assumptions while Herping and Derping trolls.
At least you know that Bama's success won't last...will you be Herping/Derping when Vol fans are on Bamas website when things are down?

Nice...lol. I've got a question for you: what do you think about the way recruiting is going and do you agree that 2015 is when we really start to make our move back into the upper echelon on CFB powerhouses?

I think we will see changes this year. But yes 15' will be the year things will be set in place because jones will have the players he wants to establish the foundation he has been talking about. '16, they could be top 5 program without a doubt

Dang.

Who was the best athlete in Clarksville in the mid to late 90s?

I'm showing my age as well.

Hard to say, but I had a buddy that in my opinion was one of the best athletes in tennessee. He is 6' and weighed 190 back then. Ran a 4.35 40, had 45 inch vertical and was physically built like Terrell Owens, a slimmed down version. He could play any sport, basketball, baseball and football. The guy never played for any sports teams though. He didn't have the drive to.

I played basketball in that era. We were in the same district as NE, NW, and Clarksville High so I saw a few first hand. The best I played against was Maybin. Marion and Hassell were not far behind.

I remember after we beat Auburn in 89 a reporter asked Johnny about his program. He said "we got a great program"! Go Vols!!!

I want to say that the national media (most notably Forde) is really out of bounds here. I don't recall any sports writers showing this kind of vitriol when Jerry Green was fired in 2001 and he was a much more successful coach than Martin who left on his own accord for another job.

You honestly think that Nick Saban is going to keep someone around who shows even the slightest hint of insubordination?

You've heard of Nick Saban, right? I mean, you've actually know something about him, other than the fact that he's short, right?

But what if Malzahn runs Saban off first?

Bamawriter... thats an interesting name you chose...is this like the Old West, when people would pay other people to write notes and letters?or read notes and letters?
I'm sure that can be lucrative employment in that state... good for you...

The joke itself has been beaten to death. But you managed to put a historical spin on it, so well done.

Then I'm sure you'll brag about it as if UT had something to do with it.

The only thing sure...is that you stopped going to Auburns message boards after the Iron Bowl and that you will continue coming here for another year or two. Then...its time to Bama troll somewhere else, right?

I would think you'd quit trying after your last couple of brain farts. But you are persistent in your failings.
