we played a pretty tough schedule too.

only 4 of the playoff teams played a tougher schedule than we did. and only 1 of the 3 schools that did better than us in both categories played a tougher schedule.

there are 2 active coaches with a national title. it is an INCREDIBLY difficult thing to do.

Doesn't have to be a NC.....try SEC championship. Or even play for one.

At 1.5 million and top 10 paying in the country we could several....I love the 'Who we gonna get' crowd. They are just settlers..
Here are some names.....

Morgan Scalley

Tony White
Tosh Lupoi
Al Golden
Tom Allen

Make sure you get back when we win a championship of any kind with our vanilla coordinators... Give me a time table....1-3-5-10 years...longer?

Some of the best minds in the business....Banks doesn't recruit worth a damn....his schemes are awful unless he's playing the Chattanooga's of the world....We won games with our front and it wasn't because of Banks.... If there was ever a season with a front and depth it was this season. Banks was very interested in the Clemson job...the worst conference in the country. Issue was Clemson didn't want him and made a much better hire. UT had banks contract on the table for several weeks that went unsigned.

Now....let me know when we play for the SEC championship. If you think we have championship coordinators then you should have a timeline when we play/win a championship.

I don't know that we have "championship" coordinators. I also can't put a timeline on championships. I think the goal now is to be make the playoffs as much as possible. That's the goal every year. Every coordinator has had their first championship. I don't think you have a thorough understanding how hard it is to win a championship. Did you play any sport at a high level? Were you a scholarship athlete in the NCAA? Since you're tossing out the term "settler" at other posters, surely you have some championship trophies in your case at home, right? As a coach or player. I'm sure you must have some.

scoring defense we were 7th. 4 playoff teams did better stopping scoring than us.

there are only 3 schools who scored more points than us, and gave up fewer points than us. two of them are playing in the national title game.

That’s amazing! Thanks for sharing Louder. Heupel and Banks have both done a fantastic job here. That doesn’t mean perfect but I don’t understand how our fans can look at what was left following Pruitt’s departure and think either Heupel or Banks are doing a bad job.

Coached in the game for 33 years....and yes I was a scholarship player in the SEC in the early 70's. You have anymore questions....I know exactly what it takes to win a championship....I worked many 14-16 hour days.

Never coached, but yes was a scholarship athlete in the early 80s.
