Our Recruiting Class Ranking - #3 Scout / #4 Rivals (Merged)

Michael Taylor will be a four star along with Channing Fugate

I love them both. Taylor may actually fit this system better than Luc as much as I've love Luc. Agile and fast. Fugate.... he is the perfect fullback. He is going to block, he has the speed and strength to break some runs. Best of all, he is a thread passing the ball. Could pry play tight end. I think he can be the college version of Mike Alstott. That's saying a lot.

Ok so merge me if I am missing this elsewhere but we have jumped up to 4 on Rivals ranking with an average of 3.57..LSU is 2nd with an average of 3.55 and 3rd is Oklahoma with an average of 3.52. There are only 4 schools in the top 25 with a better average than us, number 1 Texas (3.84)...number 6 USC (3.86)..number 8 Florida (3.8)...and number 19 Cal (3.64)

What do you guys think...do you think we'll jump up even more or do Florida and USC jump ahead of us?

I think USC and Florida will be #1 and #2. It will be a battle between UT, LSU, Bama, Oklahoma, and Texas for the remaining spots in the top 5. I do think UT will end up at either 3 or 4, but it will be a battle. Oklahoma looks good with White, Jeffcoat, and Stills. I don't know who Texas is gonna get, but it will be somebody. LSU will probably get Seastrunk and Reed. Bama is in it for Allen, King, Arie, Stone, Robinson, and Mosley. The thing that will help UT the most is that we will be able to sign more players than just about anyone else. We will hold solid in the top 5 just because of our sheer numbers. We will finish of our class with 7-9 highly rated guys...

Yeah I agree...I'm also hoping the guys we already have have great senior seasons and maybe jump up a star or so helping our rank, I kinda forgot about Alabama and Saban 's crazy ability to bring in the big fish. Cal kinda surprised me with their average star rank as well

i think we might be able to grab some from LSU and Georgia...i think they are going to have pretty bad years this year. i think we upset gerogia.

Our coaches' rankings > Rivals, Scout, and ESPN combined.

That's all I care about. I'd rather have a 2* that our coaches are slobbering over than a Rivals 4* that our coaches don't think belongs.

That is a pretty good point...our staff does have a great ability at scouting some talent..at least by playing people Fulmer recruited and wouldn't even give a shot on the field

(dont flame) dont know why everyone is so worried about where we finish in recruiting,we can have a whole team of 5* players,if they dont perform on the field it doesnt matter.example crompton.jmo

not really worried...just gets us..well at least me..really excited about the future. It distracts me from what number 8 does on any given saturday

i think the next couple of years could be real special if these recruits perform on the field up to their abilities.

we are gonna be pretty good. seriously all we need is a qb and we will be set. I do think we need another qb though. just in case one of these guys pulls a crompton.

Yeah, but fininshing with a highly rated class is the only way we are gonna catch UF. I doubt we end up with a whole class of Cromptons. There is always gonna be busts but the more highly touted recruits you get, the odds are better you are getting quality players. Bama=2 consecutive recruiting NATL TITLES=a 15-2 in their last 17 games, there is a relationship to recruiting and victories. Fulmer got by for years soley on recruiting.

After we sign this d-line class, our d-line will be set for 4 years... especially if we can add 2 or 3 more blue chip DT/DE's for 2011 along with Anthony Johnson.

Our wr class is also going to get us in the right direction with playmakers.

At this point, I think 2011 needs to be a heavy O-line and LB recruiting class. We also will sign at least 2 high quality QBs for 2011.

I predict our 2010 class ends up at #5 behind Texas, Ohio State, Florida, and USC. Alabama, Oklahoma, and LSU will be right behind us. We might even make it as high as #3 on Scout. ESPN will probably have us around #7 or #8 after NSD.

Unless we pull Scroggins, I don't think there's a QB possibility left that is good enough to use a scholly on. I really don't think Brunetti fits our offense at all. If we were to take Brunetti, it would make the whole Tajh Boyd thing that much more confusing.:dunno:

Boyd > Brunetti

I think we'll go at Scroggins until signing day, or hope Jake Heaps forgets he's a mormon, and call it a wrap. 2011 is a big year for us in recruiting. It'll be the 3rd class and should be the best of the 3 classes to that point in the Kiffin era.

NOTE: I do not think we take a serious look at Cam Newton. After watching some of his film and some rumors I've heard, I think he'll end up at Miss. State with Mullen.

I think it's pretty obvious that the coaches were willing to take Brunetti at one point. I don't have any idea if they are still recruiting him or not -- I think at one point after he had committed to WVU they still were, but they would have taken a commitment from him.

We aren't going to get Heaps. That's apparent. I doubt seriously that Jesse entertains the notion of going anywhere but USC. Cam Newton is the only guy on the radar that would be a likely second QB for this class.

And don't act like you've heard any "rumors" that no one else has. There's nothing out there on Cam.

I am curious as to which UGA recruits would consider switching to UT according to the experts here. FWIW, the only really questionable commit right now is Deon Rogers who is most likely to switch to FSU if anybody. As for you guys getting Luc, that is laughable, although according to some very good sources, the Luc family did appreciate the FREE UT camp and gear. Imagine the surprise of other schools when the Luc camp informed them they didn't have to pay elsewhere.

I dont think OSU ends up rated that highly. I doubt they are able to pull Joyner from FSU or Seantrel Henderson. They have a shot at LB Jordan Hicks.....but everyone up here seems to think Texas has the inside track on him. If their offense keeps up the current pathetic pace and CJT doesnt make some staff changes, I wouldnt be surprised at all to see a good amount of de-commits.

CLK may want to keep one QB in this class to give us a better shot at one of the top 2 or 3 prospects in 2011.
I still wish we could flip Rettig or Paul Jones...and I still like Garrett Grayson. I think the kid has it all and is, like Bray, a super sleeper. High GPA, super intelligent kid, good frame and runs a 4.6...won the Golden Gun award for accuracy at the Vegas Elite 11 this summer.
I think he moves up quite a bit, but may be hampered by a less than stellar team around him.

At this stage, we're in good shape to wait and see how things shake out...but only having 3 sholarship QB's is on the thin side, especially when you have no clear cut leader or ALL-SEC QB candidate at the helm, yet.
