Our WR Class

Some schools don't really have to pursue a kid following an offer. Schools like Florida, USC and Oklahoma speak for themselves. Those are schools you go to if you want a good shot at playing in a national championship and going pro. They might not want kids who aren't smart enough to see that for themselves. :wink2:

Again, your not hearing me, just because those schools offered does not mean that neccesarilly want or would accept a committment from him now. Things have changed a lot from when those schools initially offered.

I hear what you're saying but it's all speculation. Things may have change, they might not accept him and so on. If I take too many flinstone vitamins my pee might turn blue. So your guess is as good as mine. I'm just saying that is a lot of offers from the best schools in the country and I'm sure a lot of them would honor their offer. This a four star player and they obviously saw something in him. I didn't know Tennessee was in the lead... that's my bad. I just don't think all of those schools that offered him have stopped pursuing him.

Good point. Whether or not we get prater we'll still have Green coming in next season as well....hopefully. Do you really think we have a shot at getting Cobbs?

i highly doubt we even go after green next year. he'll be in juco and with the wr class we have coming in this year along with last years, he'll most likely try somewhere else. imo

No. Zero chance we don't stay on Green hard.

Does cobbs really run nearly a 4.8? I mean good lord

He had never fun a forty before and didn't know about opening stance and keeping his head down. He could easily shave off off 1-2 tenths with a little practice, but his coach didn't focus on things like that in anticipation of combines. He is faster than his advertised time.

I think Cobbs is an Anquan Bolden clone. Similar 40 times, similar height and both are very aggresive.

I think Tennessee will become wide receiver U again after ambles, milton ,cobbs, prater sign. Also to have richardson and teague
already here.

I don't see us getting both Cobbs and Prater. I do think we have a good chance to get one of them though, most likely Cobbs. But if anybody can get all 4 of those guys, it's this staff.

Pretty cool article on govolsxtra about praters visit.

He set up his official visit for the ucla game- only other visit so far is to usc a couple weeks earlier. Our fans could help win him over.

He talked about playing early and the prep for the nfl that you would get at ut. He said he will enroll in jan to take part in spring practice and summer workouts.

He said pt is not guaranteed and he knows he must work to earn it.

I think we have a pretty solid shot at getting him.

My question- is he as good as advertised (I have not watched his tapes yet).

I think we have a pretty decent chance of getting all 4 of their verbals actually. Now keeping all 4 on signing day....

Ambles, Milton, and Prater are all enrolling in January. We wouldn't have to hold their commitments until NSD.

Wow you totally just proved me wrong SGM. Actually thanks I feel kinda relieved now. Anyone think Ambles might be a little frustrated if Cobbs and Prater or both jumped on board?

No. He's not a dumb kid.

Exactly, I think every good WR out there knows..the more they merrier. The opposing teams DBs cant double cover everyone, so they know they get their chance at single coverage down field. Knowing they're lined up on the opposite side of another awesome WR is good for them. And with Brown/Oku in the backfield, they cant bring a safety up. So, no..hes smart. Like LD says...

Easily the best possession receiver HS film I've ever seen. I say he runs in the high 4.5's or low 4.6's, but that's JMO

I definitely want Prater but I think Ambles film is way more impressive. The level of competition is a big difference as well. Ambles will come in ready to play, Prater and Milton will need to learn technique and add strength.

All will have to gain some strength. Also there are a lot of people that think Prater is in Julio and AJ Green's class. He's not on that level period. We need not fool ourselves. Darius White may be close to they're level with his athleticism. But it's hard to tell seeing the level of competition he's playing against.

Prater is 6'5 runs a 4.5 with a 38 inch vert.... Those numbers alone are easily more impressive than Julio

But Julio is as slow as Christmas and is not much of a deep threat I think prater with that verticle and speed can be a great deep threat
