Over/unders ....

Evidently, the Kool-aid.

In the meantime, I think that is the appropriate over/under measure. At this point, I have to say you are likely serious underdogs next year. Maybe prohibitive.
I'd rather be underdogs......I don't have to say it, everyone else knows the story about how much better we play as underdogs

You don't have to say it ... but you will, right?

Are you John Kerry?
Nope won't say it.....No I'm not John Kerry....John Kerry deserves to...Well we won't say what that man needs to go to do....I'm a George W. Bush fan.....Last time we were underdogs to you guys in Gainseville we beat ya'll....We weren't favored in 2005 down there were we? Can't remember

Don't remember. Seems like home team is usually favored, at least has been for last few years as I recall.

As a Gator fan, I'm very excited to see what Meyer can do with the players he wil have next year. They fit his syetm so much better than Leak as trigger man.

I think Leak has just been lucky to have good players around him......That's what's made him look so good this year.....Because like you said, he's definitely not the guy that needs to be at QB for ya'll....The next few years for the Vols and Gators should be very good games...I'm looking forward to them

i do believe we were 3 touchdown dogs in the swamp in '01--and uf was supposed to have a lot more talent on that team as well--refresh my memory if you will, what was the score of that game again???:birgits_giggle:

We won that game, but choked in the SECCG against LSU.....I wouldn't mind having that game back

The gimmick coach will be out of Florida well before Fulmer has a twinkling of being a member of the gone network.

Meyer is a gimmick coach? That statement is so foolish that it doesn't deserve a response, ergo I give it none.

I noticed I am about to hit my 2500th post on here and it got me to wondering, by time of the Gator/UT game next year, can I hit 10,000? And if I do, do I get a prize? Maybe a hat from hatvol? A lewd picture of LIO?

But I digress.

That whole thing got me thinking about some interesting over\unders, some short term, some long....

Number of regular UT wins next year (remember, you are likely to lose receiving corps experience and you are on the road a lot for tough games: 8

Number of years before UT has a new head football coach: 4

Number of years before you beat UF again: 5
over 8 wins, and push on new coach, and under on when we'll beat UF again.

ohhh....the infamous "no response" response :p

I just think anyone who says that Meyer is gimmicky is either not watching, ignorant, intentionally baiting me into a fight that I cannot help but win, or intoxicated to the point of death.

Florida hasn't run a true spread option at all, yet. Not once. They have run some triple options and reverses, yes, but you haven't seen them line up with guys literally from one sideline to the other. The point of that system is to force favorable match-ups. If Florida's offensive line matures and learns that system right going into next year, it can be VERY successful.

Witness what AF was able to do to you and then imagine those guys being world-class athletes with 4.2 speed.

Yeah...but...I think the AF option was so succesful because their guys didn't have blazing speed and we overpursued all night. I look at the option as being a slow man's power boost. It's the only chance he's got. Do you think it would be AS succesful with a very quick team running it? I'm not so sure. I think that is why we see teams with fewer good athletes running the option and teams with blazing speed not. Just my $0.02.

I actually hate to say it, but i think LG's post is reasonable. Well, I think we'll win more than 8 next year, but it could be a while before we beat florida. This year was the year, and we let it slip away. Did you all see Florida's recruiting last year....and this year's is shaping up mighty nicely as well.

I"m just afraid that this is the year where we had the horses to beat them and didn't. Florida will have thoroughbreds in the comings years.

I said the thing about Florida winning the next five in part just to get a rise out of you (collective "you"). I don't really expect Florida to hold UT down that long. In fact, although I feel like Florida has the edge based on the current state of affairs going into next year in Gainesville, I can only say that based on current state of affairs. Who knows if everyone will be healthy, uninjured, etc., come then.

I know one thing about the next five games.
They will be wars. Always are. Come September, you just leave the rhetoric on the table because both sides will come to play.

Also, it's not like Chavis is going to do nothing to prepare for this supposed 'Shock and Awe' Spread offense. Tebow may be the Pied Piper for Meyer's ideal offense. But remember, The Pied Piper is more Fairy Tale than fact...

Game next year is in Gainesville and Tebow and Harvin at full strength in total spread option. Year after that, still have Tebow and amazing receiving corps. Offensive line has 2 years under their belt and it will be seocnd year of whatever stud running back Meyer gets this year. Third year game is at Florida and again Tebow & company rule the roost.

That's three right there.

I would not count your chikens, next year Tebow will need to throw the football, we have seen his 3 pointer but Can he hit someone in full stride from 50 after runing into a 300 pounder the play before. Can he be hit for a full game running like he does? Its a long season in the sec and the D lines will be ready next year.

You keep pumping Harvin and Tebow. Again, I'll ask why? Harvin has caught 20 passes this year with one TD and Tebow has attempted what, 14 passes? Not exactly rewriting the record books? I don't believe the hype.

Tebow had a tremendous passing career in high school but I confess he has only thrown a few passes in colege and those were in special situations. So, while every indication so far is that he can run the passing part of such an offense, I can't say he has done it, yet. I see no reason why he can't.

I'm sorry, did you write something? I can't get past the avatar....

Yes I watch the option every Sunday it's so good.

LG is right, UT won't has no chance to beat the Mighty Gators at any time over the next 5 years. But perhaps we'll just go ahead and play -- just for the fun of it, you know, to just sort of see what happens on the field. Maybe the ball will take a funny hop, maybe someone will roll an ankle, you just never know, do you?!
