Overall hype of the '14 class

All I could think about last night was they have finally signed the dotted line and I didn't have to worry about potential poachers sweeping in and stealing any of them at the last minute. I hope this will prove to be a very special class.

2009's class was pretty big and unexpected. I know it's easy to hate on Lane now, but many folks were really excited when he first came to town - especially the players. Most the players enjoyed him.

Hindsight is 20/20 and obviously that class was a tremendous bust. I do not see this class going that route. This class is not only full of stars, but supposedly full of good character young men as well.

The 1994 class was pretty spectacular basically a consensus #1 recruiting class of course recruiting was not nearly as covered then but not many schools ever sign 2 of the top qb's in the country in the same class.

ESPNU made us the star of the show yesterday. I recorded 7 hours & watched last night (FF through the useless bummer, ND, SC etc garbage) Jeannine Edwards was on campus & they went to her no less than 10 times, all of it being PRO Vol. I even read someone complaining on twitter how it was just "The Tennessee Show." 'Bout time we had coverage like this for UT!!

Cool. I personally don't like the kids having their egos inflated during the season and getting distracted, but just after signing day it's good for them to hear their names on TV and get fired up and train their butts off.

Brandon Stewart. Like another QB associated with Peyton (Ryan Leaf) he didn't live up to the hype. I seem to recall him transferring but whatever happened to him?

He went to Texas A&M and set several passing records.

That's at least understandable. Why they would even bring up ND , Oklahoma and Stanford's classes is a bit mystifying. Never mind Kentucky and ...oh is that Tennessee with a top 5 class? blah lets talk about USC blasting through at number 10 ! At the end of the day the rank doesn't mean squat. Let's see the rubber hit the road and forget the fancy mufflers.

Die-hard recruitniks watched ESPNs NSD coverage and most already knew about our class. Even non-recruitniks knew about our stellar class ahead of time. We also didn't have any surprises but USC and other teams did. Fox also spread it out because they're writing to a national audience. Otherwise it would be "SEC owns signing day."

Fox also has agreements with the Pac 12 and the Big 12, I believe. Such an arrangement does not exist for the SEC.
