Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke has issued a directive, No. 2015-01, that protects the two memorial sites at 6219 Lee Highway and 40521 Amnicola Highway as protected memorial sites.

The directive is to defend mourners at both sites, which have become popular as Chattanoogans and people from all over the U.S. come to pay their respects to the fallen servicemen.

Berke cites the Tennessee Code Section 39-17-317 that prohibits person(s) from interfering with a funeral or related memorial services for a deceased person.

Good move!

Staff Sargent Wyatt's funeral procession is going right down Amnicola Hwy. Lord, I cannot imagine that poor family.

I know. Breaks my heart. These guys signed up to be in harms way when needed but not at home in a recruiting office. Shame.

I think that is what I am having the hardest time with. They get sent over seas and make it home only to be attacked on their own soil where they can't really defend themselves.

I was planning on it, but just found out hubby has to work all weekend. I may see if the boys want to go down there. You?

Right now our plan is to be down there and then we are going to go to the River Park and run as a family. Kind of as an effe you to show people we aren't going to let this scare us away.. The wife and I feel like that park is our park. We run there a lot and we don't want to let this scare us away from it.

Sounds like the perfect plan!

Good job.

I thought I dreamed this morning that I was to tired to throw my gum in the trash, but nope! I just realized I stuck it to the side of my bed. Gotta love nightshift!
