Is the Dogwood Arts Festival still held in Knoxville. We lived there in 1075-78 & really enjoyed that event, especially the lovely flowers & lawns with streets featuring painted "Dogwood Trails".Dropped below freezing about 3 hours ago. Should rise above freezing in about an hour. High today should be around 58. Dogwood blossoms started to open when temperatures rose into the 70s last week (daffodils wilted). Ajuga has started to bloom. All are early this year. Though the air is dry, I’m hoping that the short time below freezing is tolerated by the blooming plants and trees.
I still have 17 dogwoods in my yard. When I first moved here in 2010, there were 33. One died and several others were taken out by a large oak that fell from the adjacent property when it was being developed. A few more were taken out for a storm water management project that I was forced to undertake at my own expense due to that same development (the local government approved the routing of drainage from 16 acres directly onto my property without any consideration for its impact on me - determining that coping with it was my responsibility ).Is the Dogwood Arts Festival still held in Knoxville. Bummer YVI'll tell ya. It's been a crazy last couple of weeks. I was in OH for training. Wife calls me Wednesday, and the water heater went out ($3k). We had just had the new roof put on ($2.5k, deductible), and agreed to new windows and doors ($$$). THEN, I get home Friday and lost my wallet on Sunday (I was on my motorcycle). Walked 15 miles Monday (after driving the route) and didn't find it.
