'17 PA CB Lamont Wade

I don't care what most of you members want to think. The USCe loss affected the decision making of Wade. He was just about all UT up until that loss. There was no talk of him going anywhere else even after the A&M loss.

He was still sticking with us then. It's mainly due to losing to USCe that has caused him to probably wan to to go elsewhere now. I feel confident that's how this all came about.

I agree with you here tony. The USc loss was big. I know some might want to believe wins/losses dont matter to recruits but thats a load of BS. Tennessee was supposed to do big things this year. We were supposed to go from being good to elite. It didnt happen. Recruits look at those things. I think they also look at the position coaches a lot. Martinez is just not that good.

Thanks for seeing my side of the story. :good!: I agree with you about Martinez as well. He needs to go in my opinion.

Honestly, if Butch gets a top 100 player that's throwing up the U to switch to us the night before signing day, any of these guys including Wade are a possibility for us up until they sign that line.

Wrong but ok you and Tony take that train. If a recruit changes his mind based on a single game they are being ridiculous and dont want anyway.

Ok then lets flip the script here. Do you think a big win, influences a recruit? Say we would have beaten Alabama? Do you think that game would have had any effect on anyone?

No I don't not really but that would also be on a VISIT to a HOME GAME.

What if we still do?

10-3 and winning the SEC with more injuries than I can ever remember a single team sustaining may put a different narrative out there

You may very well be correct and I hope it does. But thinking that wins/losses dont matter to recuits is just foolish. They matter.

I really think before the South Carolina loss Wade was high on us. I think we were at the top of his lists until we lost that game.

That's honestly what I believe is happening now. It's made him have 2nd thoughts & this won't be the 1st recruit to rethink their upcoming decisions either that had us on their lists. Sad to say but the truth is the truth.

There's good and bad to a loss...

"Were winning and you want to be part of something special"

"We lost because we are playing 3rd string guys at DB, that's why we need you to step in immediately and help us there"

If he picks PSU it's because it's close to home, not because we lost to USC playing with our scout team on the field.

We had enough of offense players to win. Poor offense coaching and player execution lost that game....not the scout team
