Pacman suspension

with as much time he has to kill now, your probably right, but that's beside the point. the main thing i am upset about is how the nfl is handling this situation.

Pro athletes need to hold themselves to a higher standard and be a positive influence and role model be an example for kids at home watching. The NFL has handled the Pacman situation perfectly, they don't want the league to look like a bunch of convicts. The first thing they have to do is crackdown on what these athletes are getting away with. I do disagree with them for giving Henry only 8 games though.

That's the problem. The whole situation should have been vice versa. Pacman should have gotten the 8 games, while Henry was stuck with more. Not necessarily the whole season, but more than what Pacman is getting.

Total and utter garbage. If kids have to look at athletes on TV for role models, they need new parents.

Wrong. They both should have gotten a year.

They could have reduced the suspension but that wouldn't get to him. Players get injured and miss 4 or 8 games and then can come back and can contribute for the rest of the year and possibly play in the playoffs. By suspending him a year he can't participate with the team at all this year on the field and it should make him feel sad to not be a part of it and it should teach him that he let his team and fans down. 1 year is the only appropriate suspension. Maybe he will think about that and use this year and work like heck to improve his image and to become better on and off of the field.

Coach Fulmer, is that you?

What happens if Pacman is actually convicted and found guilty of a crime? Lifetime ban?

just give Pacman to the start of football season, he's bound to get in trouble again.

Judging from your first quote, i'm guessing your not expecting the latter to happen.

Actually, judging from Henry's suspension, if Pacman is convicted before the season starts, his suspension could be reduced apparently.

NFL set a scary precident. Suspeding someone without a conviction. Is Pac Man a thug, YES. Should he be suspended, YES. A full season, probably not. Are they going to go after Vick for his run-ins with the law? He is the big ticket in the NFL. Bet they don't touch him. He deserves some disciplinary action as well (and I am a Falcons fan).

I believe the days of Michael Vick being the 'big ticket' in the NFL are about 3 or 4 years in the past.
