How much did they know?

Why is the former president of Pakistan on ABC talking crap about US intelligence organizations?

What's a good reason for us to remain cooperative with their govt?

Do what you do VN. I'm all ears.

Pure opinion: I think they knew a lot more than they let on. We didn't trust them enough to let them in on an operation deep within their borders.

As for the talking shiz, we made them look bad. We found him in their country when they couldn't/wouldn't. We didn't let them know what was going on. We probably caused them future trouble because their religious zelots will probably retaliate. We hurt their feelings, too. JMO.

I've never trusted Pakistan even more so now with the details that have come out. There's a reason why we didn't inform Pakistan of the raid. Many believe that Zawahiri is hiding in plain sight in Pakistan as well. Pakistan has some explaining to do.....IMO we should cut off all ties with Pakistan.

We send our condolences to Pakistan along with the world's smallest violin. Not a chance in hell they do anything other than talk on this issue of "sovereignty" and on our lack of trust in the ISI and the Pakistani military forces.

Pakistan has nothing to ***** about. He was there, near their capital, above ground. Give me a break.

I didn't want Pakistan to get him. I wanted us to get him. I didn't want them to **** this up, because there's a good chance they would. Great job not knowing he was there for five solid years. That's a lie though. They knew where he was. Screw them.

What really cracks me up is there's a military base right down the road from where Bin Laden had been living for some time now. Their military can't possibly be that inept.

Telling them would have been stupid, IMO. Run the risk of Osama getting a tip without much benefit.

Yes. All these public political pronouncements are putrid.

Alliteration forced the descriptor.

Looking at a very small an insignificant portion of this whole episode, I'm drawn to a simple undeniable fact. That craptastic "Mansion" that cost a million bucks is/was considered an abnormal structure in that region.

To put it plainly, something that "elaborate" stood out, or at least should have.

WTF do those D-bags in the Pakistani govt have to say about that?

That they knew he was there.

He should go out there and kick their asses for hiding a terrorist and lying to us about how "cooperative" they were going to be. But that's patriotism/imperialism/We Can Kick Anybody's Ass coming out.

Exactly.

...not only that, but he was in a house 6 times bigger than any other, gated, right down the road from their version of West Point. The whole thing stinks IMO.

They have no version of West Point.

I'm down with all that stuff right about now.

Not one to watch Fox News, but I'm catching O'Reilly, and agree with him 100% saying we should send no more money to Pakistan at all.

All we have to do is turn over what ever info we have about Pakistan to India. We don't have to send any troops in over there. Just let the Indians handle our dirty work. I'm sure India would be very interested to know how a big target like OBL could be sitting all comfy in Pakistan's borders without them knowing about it.

India definitely likes the discord.

we have to remain somewhat cooperative, because they have Nukes..but I do think we should cut funding, we give them more than 3 Billion a year in aid..

and as far as Musharraf, he could have captured him years ago if he had wanted too

I like this better. I can watch their leaders burn down without having any American troops die. I can dig it.

Unintended slight against West Point.

Are their weapons fully operational and ready to rock, or are they still in development stages and dependent on our continued funding?

They're ready to rock and we never funded them. Nukes aren't that hard to make.

Surely our diplomacy with them will need to be re-evaluated.

Damn the nukes and all that that encompasses.

I view them as a guilty bunch of crooks out to make a buck from whoever, whenever.

They detonated their first nuclear weapon in May 1998, so yeah they are operational.
