Pakistan.

Looking at a very small an insignificant portion of this whole episode, I'm drawn to a simple undeniable fact. That craptastic "Mansion" that cost a million bucks is/was considered an abnormal structure in that region.

To put it plainly, something that "elaborate" stood out, or at least should have.

WTF do those D-bags in the Pakistani govt have to say about that?

That's a great point. Given the mansion's proximity to the military training base, I'd dare say some members of the military knew he was there and were more than complicit.

I'll grant them that they have no problem copying a second rate outfit like the one in Annapolis.

I bet the Pakistani military academy fields a mean cricket team. Got to give them that.

If Pakistan was in complete agreement with our desire to get him (dead or alive) I doubt their feathers would be as ruffled as they currently are.

I think we've all come to the conclusion that the Pakistan Intelligence Community is considerably lacking in integrity, capabilities, and willingness to cooperate.

My question, is and remains, what should we do regarding them from here out. I've still yet to be convinced its a relationship worth saving. No need to bomb em', but no need to help them either IMO.

I'm thinking the 1 billion dollars in aid the U.S. has given them over the past 10 years needs to end now.

You pull aid and support and you are asking for a failed state and a complete takeover by extremist Islamist terrorists.

I'd love to see Obama really go off for once. Just speak, unscripted, like you or I about what a travesty it was that that piece of **** was hiding in plain sight in a city a stone's throw from a military base. And then state that all funding ends right now.

How is this much, if really any, different than what they have in there right now?? It's really close to that right now. It's not like there is much "freedom of religion" in that country.

It is materially different. While Pakistan might be complicit in harboring terrorists within their borders, the terrorists, at this point and to my knowledge, to not have their hands on Pakistan's nuclear arsenal. We pull our aid and support from Pakistan and we have to live with the consequences of a rogue nation with working nuclear weapons.

Sounds like a country we should take over.

How long did you serve?

I'm just tired of yahoos even suggesting we get involved in yet another conflict, resulting in someone else's family member or friend having to go into BS situations with no clear military objectives or parameters to satiate the nationalistic ego of the many mouth-breathers with micropenises that mistake warmongering with defense and bullying with patriotism.

I got an ELS, which means I didn't make it to active duty past Basic. Really sucks, but it's something that happened.

The Army's red headed step child if I recall correctly...

On weekends we'd go Peterson AFB to eat sometimes. Their food was a high end steakhouse compared to the Arby's quality chow in our dfac.
