I don't know your particular situation, so I won't comment on it. I do know that if 50% of your TennCare patients show up for their appointments, it's time to open a bottle of champagne. People that are disabled and unable to work are special circumstances. Trash that show up 30 minutes late then play on their G4 phone while you talk to them about their easily avoidable medical problems deserve to be kicked in the teeth.

I understand where you are coming from on the TennCare thing. BUT, i work and contribute instead of leech.
It's no secret. I have been diagnosed with MS since 2004. I still work everyday, but I have no option on my health care unless I divorce or have some other major life changing event that I do not even want to think about. That's wrong. If your 'name' on here is where you live, I am only about 5-8 miles west of you on 11W.

That's tough to deal with. There's some promising hormone therapy that might be worth looking into. I think Germany is a big player with it.

I can't afford it. That's my problem. The insurance that I have now sucks. Better than nothing, but it still sucks. I am stuck between the cracks. I don't make enough to pay on my own, but I'm not sorry enough to try for a free ride. I enjoy work and think it helps me maintain a fairly good level of health.

If you don't want to prioritize your health enough to get the recommended tests done, that's your prerogative. I'd prefer the rest of us have access to needed medical care in a system that isn't overloaded with the kind of trash that is currently screwing TennCare.

No other western country has a problem giving comprehensive coverage to all its citizens. More than a few middle income countries do it just fine as well.

And they do so at a lot less cost. I still don't know which system is rationing paps. I know in the UK you are automatically given a routine pre-cautionary appointment a few weeks after certain birthdays.

The problem is we've got states trying to fill in the gaps between the federal government and the insurance companies. The data is clear and unambiguous. And Switzerland is a perfect example of exactly the OP in the Private Health Care thread.

@Jay - I really respect how you are going.

Thanks. My dad set the example on how to deal with this stuff. He's passed now, but i still won't let him down. I am not asking for a handout. I just want access.
