How did McCain do? I did not watch any of the conventions, just picked up snippets of highlights here and there. The a.m. talk shows today said basically it was okay but not anything noteworthy one wya or the other.

Very professionally done. He showed he is not a cheer leader but he comes across as an adult who will be honest and straight forward. I think he did exactly what people expected.

saw that on Drudge so I had to discount it some.

In the end, I'm just not sure it means anything.

Did you see that the CBS poll called it a dead heat again.

A poll quote from bmfpv? Lord have mercy!

RCP shows the race at pre-convention levels (Obama +3.2) - if McCain gets any bounce it should run even.

Interestingly, Obama is down - he had hit 50% but is back below.

you think that number is remotely close to what Palin helped raise in the last couple days?

How does that work? If McCain gets locked into public financing once the convention is over than would their money go into the Republican National Committee or would they not be allowed to raise any more money? Just curious because of the issue with Obama not accepting and all, is it really a big advantage or will the Republicans just funnel McCain's money through the RNC?

The RNC will do all of the advertising with the money that heads that direction.

40 frigging million. McCain made the right choice, there was not another choice out there that would have pulled that.

In TV Ratings Race, McCain Tops Obama by One Count, Equals in Another - America’s Election HQ

It surprises me that McCain pulled the same kind of numbers for his speech as did Obama.

It marked the end of an astonishing run where more than 40 million people watched political speeches on three nights by Obama, McCain and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The Republican convention was the most-watched convention on television ever, beating a standard set by the Democrats a week earlier

It's also worth pointing out that McCain's speech drew more viewers while airing on fewer networks than Obama's speech.

You're not too good at this are you?

Tell my why his resume would have pulled 40 million? Please, explain it.

There was no other choice???? Yeah there were probably 50 other people with more impressive resumes then hers he could have picked.

The same Republicans who watched McCain last night would have watched the nominee the night before, whether it was Romney or Paulin. Paulin drew more people because she was unknown to most people. You act like thats a good thing, its not.

That is a good point, it is also interesting that Telemundo didn't show Mr. McCain. I wonder why that is. Good job NBC.

There was no other choice???? Yeah there was another choice.

The same Republicans who watched McCain last night would have watched Romney or Paulin the night before.

Who was the other VP choice that would have drawn 40 million for a speech. Please cough it up.

No they wouldn't, McCain got 40 million because he got people so interested with the Palin pick.

Biden got 24 million, Romney would have probably gotten a similar number.

She didn't go to Harvard, why are you all even arguing about this?

No Harvard = no cred.

I'm regularly astonished by your unrelenting incoherence.
