I know that a lot of it can be put into our offensive scheme (and quite frankly, it does suck), but I also know that part of the problem is Pearl's offensive subs. It's impossible to get a rhymth. He takes four players out (usually) before the first media timeout. It's impossible to get a rhythm. I know that Tony Jones is suppose to run the subs, but it's terrible. Something needs to be done. You can't get into a rhythm to start a game when you are pulled out in three minutes.

I have always questioned Pearl's substituting going back to Lofton days. If a player gets hot, Pearl seems to pull them out everytime. I have always been under the impression that if a player gets hot, you keep feeding him the ball until he cools.

last year, scotty hits a couple nice shots to start the game off. He seems to be looking for his shot, looks like he is feeling it. 17:31 in the half, and scotty sits for five minutes. He's out of rhythm and does nothing. It's one of the dumbest things you can do.

It's almost like he has a substituion plan based on playing time and he sticks to it regardless of how the game is shaping up.

I've heard him say that he doesn't handle substitutions. I think it's maybe Tony Jones?

I think you are on to something. Part of our offensive issues absolutely relate to the number of players we play. However, the plan is to substitute freely and keep fresh players in the game for constant defensive pressure to wear the other team down. I suspect you will see fewer subs agaiinst the elite teams.

Ya'll do realize that Tennessee is 8th in the nation in scoring offense this year. The next closest SEC team is 20th. Sometimes Pearl's offense and system is frustration to watch but his team always puts up points so I think we should quit crying about it. He always leads the SEC in scoring.

Do they hang banners for that?

Sometimes we only come up one or two short of the other team, but what the hey.

Good lord, you guys are a piece of work. You whine about the offense and the guy rebuts by saying we score a lot of points. So, you all retort with some smart remark about banners. What's the point of that? The guy was addressing a specific issue brought up and you all deflect to something else. Always the same BS.

Scoring a bunch of points doesn't make a champion. I think that was the point.

i think our problems on offense are the lack of three point shooting to help spread the floor and the lack of a decent point guard to get to the rim and run the offense

Same BS? Funny thing about scoring is that it only matters when compared to the team one is playing on a particular night.

Your same tired BS doesn't change the fact that our relative scoring is awful when playing quality competition with even decent coaching.

Keep carrying the fight.

Beating up on the UNCA's of the world by running them out of the gym does not make one a championship team.

If one can not see the issues with both the halfcourt offense and defense, then they have blinders on.
