Miami firefighter's Own seven-year-old daughter was found while he was at the recovery site of the Miami condo catastrophe as he was seen draping his jacket and an American flag over her body

A firefighter's seven-year-old daughter has been recovered from the rubble of the Surfside condo catastrophe in Florida.

According to initial, but as of yet unconfirmed reports, the rescue worker was part of the actual team that made the heartbreaking discovery Thursday night – and draped his jacket over the child's body.

He is then reported to have placed a small American flag on the gurney and escorted his child through a group of police and other firefighters who lined up on the roadway beside destroyed Champlain South Tower.

Just don’t see how anyone still unaccounted for at this point isn’t dead. Even if they didn’t get physically crushed or fall to death, they surely would’ve dehydrated out by now, especially in south FL heat and humidity

Florida high-rise evacuated over structural concerns following Surfside condo collapse

City officials in North Miami Beach have ordered the shutdown and evacuation of a high-rise condo complex there, roughly a week after a deadly collapse left dozens of people missing in a neighboring community.

North Miami Beach Building Department officials ordered the evacuation of Crestview Towers Friday evening, according to a city spokesperson. Officials are working with the American Red Cross to find temporary shelter for the building’s residents.

"There has been no collapse and no one has been injured – this is a precautionary measure based on their inspection report," the spokesperson said.

The move came after the condo board turned in a building inspection report that found structural deficiencies.

Cat Found at condo collapse site After More Than 2 Weeks: 'This is a miracle'

Binx turned up Friday, alive, at the Surfside condo collapse site

One family who lost everything in the Surfside condo collapse last month received a small miracle Friday when their cat was found alive.

The Gonzalez family has suffered mixed fortune from the collapse: Angela and her daughter Deven survived a fall from their ninth-floor apartment, recovering from their injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital. However, Edgar Gonzalez, the father, has been missing since the June 24 collapse, Local News 10 reported.

The family cat, Binx, had also remained missing as workers cleared the site looking for any signs of life. As of Friday, the death toll had risen to 78 people, officials said, as recovery efforts continued.

Sometimes you just have to rejoice in tiny instances of grace.

Wonder what she’ll live on while waiting for any of those settlements to wind their ways through the courts.
—and actually, for all these people affected. I hope the insurance policies didn’t include lots of weasel clauses (as happened after Katrina, for instance.)

My question is who is she and the residents going to sue? The condo owners would just be suing themselves wouldn't they?
