Pastner and Memphis struggle against CBC

Being from Memphis, I can say this. Christian Brothers is a step above Victory. CBU is actually ranked in its preseason and a bigger school than Victory. I would say the competition was tougher for Memphis.

That being said, no excuses. Memphis' talent is light years ahead of CBU.

This is his year. If he can't win this year then Tiger High will start declining (even Memphis fans can agree with that)

And as for struggling to make the tournament, you would think not but like I said, show me something Pastner because you got a real schedule this year.

I hope the best for Austin Nichols but his career is over before it started with Pastner developing him. To think he chose that path over both Coach K and a Duke degree. Wtf... lol

Pastners coaching will be under the magnifying glass this season. They won't fire him until after he has bombed in the Big East, if that happens. He has too many connections to top recruits, but I believe his reason for being a great recruiter is he has an ace recruiter in Asst Coach Damon Stoudemire. Several of the key recruits will tell you Coach Stoudemire is the reason.

Top teams often struggle in exhibition games... Better to deal with adversity in the games that don't count than the ones that do. Memphis should be fine. I don't think they'll be as good as some of their fans think they'll be, but they certainly won't struggle to make the tournament.

Not directed at you Kusotate.....just an observation......Here's the thing. CBU is ranked 16th or 17th in DII. Pastner dicked with the lineup and wanted to work on a half court game against a team that slowed the pace down...ala St Louis. CBU isn't bad and it was an exhibition. Pastner isn't getting fired anytime soon. Whether he's a bad or good coach, he's surrounded by a good staff. Aki, Damon Stoudamire and Williams. He'll be fine.

It would suck cheering for Tiger High. The game last nite would be a major concern if I were a Memphis fan. Yeah Knoxville looms as a very scary game for the Tigers. No excuses for scoring 60. It may be that you're just bad right now. Probably true. Go Vols!
