Pat Summitt statue?

I've never shopped to have a statute made, but it's not like you can buy it now on eBay.

That said, it should be a priority. UT waited too long to recognize Mears.

Auburn already has a Cam statue. Could be done...

It's something that needs to be done right. I agree it should be a priority, but would ok with them taking time to make sure it's AWESOME

Meh, I personally would not support one. Not because I am against Pat, but because I have never seen a statue that looked good. They always seem to have the person in an odd position, or their face looks nothing like the person.

HOWEVER I would support one no matter how it looked if it was to replace that stupid tornado sculpture on pedestrian walkaway.

The statue of General Neyland disagrees with you.

she should have been made the AD ten years ago! The vols would now be the most respected university in the NCAA .

Possum, she's the most intimidating woman I've ever met. Her presense(when she's mad) is enough to make your manhood want to crawl back up inside you. People over the years have said she couldn't have coached men. They're wrong. There's a reason so many of her male peers respect her. She's a coach through and through. She doesn't accept your best, she wants perfection. There will never be another like her.

I recall reading something not too long ago...don't have the link and don't feel like looking for it.....that Kentucky's AD did consider Pat for the Head Coaching position for the Men's BBall Team a few years ago. Seems to me, she was in his Top 5. He was very candid about why he didn't offer the position. He said he truly thought she could do it, but said "he didn't have the guts" (may have said "balls") to do it. I'd say that's a pretty good indication of what others thought of her abilities.

She will be missed as a coach, but will remain a mentor to many I'm sure.

She deserves one more than anyone else at UT! Hope it gets done before the end of the year.

Hart needs to put something together before next bball season so we can continue to recruit these fine young women that pat always did. A simple statue will not do but a statue inline with what we have done for The General is in order.

I agree that Pat deserves a statue now before it's too late; in addition, Peyton Manning and Reggie White deserve one pronto. Also, strong consideration should be given to statues for Al Wilson, Jason Witten, Doug Atkins, and Bernard King.

Statues are great. Would really love to see one soon, but I want to see the movie "Summitt: The Story of a Coach".

Sounds like something ESPN films better already be working on.

I hope they take the time to come up with a better name, though...

:p
