Pat Summitt vs Geno Auriemma

To say that Geno had cake walks for the last two Championships he won with Taurasi on his team is wrong. While he used statements like 'We have Diana and they don't' to motivate his team you have to look especially at Taurasi's last year. She was hurt most of the year and the team had several losses. You have to give him credit for what he did in that year during the tourney with a team that was full of good not great players and a star who was basically playing on one leg.

UConn does run a tight ship, no visible tats and no piercings allowed and if you don't graduate or continue to work towards your degree you aren't welcomed back to visit the team or coaches. Even Taurasi, who didn't necessarily excel in the classroom got her degree because she knew that she wasn't going to be welcomed back without it. Oh yea, and from what I heard during the tournament Moore has enough credits and has fulfilled her requirements to graduate already after just three years.

My wife says Taurasi was dumb as a bag of hammers, not that it matters in any way.

I say screw Geno and the horse he rode in on. Pat Summit IS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL. I'm tickled pink about all the stats you guys have provided here but I for one will stay firm with the lady in ORANGE. Go PAT and GO VOLS..................Commish:bow2:

Not that it matters to me at all, tats were very visible during the NC game this year. Graduation rate for the Lady Vols is 100%. I haven't found the rate for UCONN yet, but I'm sure it's on the web somewhere. Anyway, with Pat, geno, whoever, graduation should be at the top of the goals.

That's B.S. Geno has had his share of girls into the alternative lifestyle. I haven't thought about his staff but it wouldn't surprise me if some were of that persuasion. Every team out there has had their share. It's pretty common in womens basketball. That's not the reason Maya went to UCONN.

Yeah, the ESPN thing was not a smoke screen. I don't think 25-30 pages (I forgot exactly how many) of documentation would only cover the ESPN connection. There's a lot more to it. I do think the lifestyles whatever they may be may have been one of the reasons that she chose uconn. But, I think one of the big factors in ending the games was how Moore obtained this information.

from: Geno Auriemma biography

Every recruited freshman that has played for Auriemma at Connecticut and completed her eligibility at UConn has obtained her undergraduate degree. Impressively, since the 1991-92 season, 32 of UConn's starters - 21 different players - have been on the Dean's List.

Thanks. No denying the success the program has had. When all is said and done in the years to come, UT and uconn will be so far ahead in the records department, I don't think anyone comes close.

To clear up or muddy up another rumor that's out there, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird were not indicated in the violation reports involving ESPN. I've seen comments about how unhappy or displeased they were about being indicated, when in fact they weren't. It isn't their fault in anyway to feel that way. At the time, the Hartford Courant reported that. They were both out of the country at the time.

Summitt says Auriemma knew reasons GoVolsXtra

I just don't understand how any true Vols fan can ever argue for Geno against Pat. EVER. That is a disgrace that I just can't abide by.
