Lose her? She has no other real options. If we are paying her for being a great ambasssador and representative of the University, fine. But using the threat she might leave is disingenuous.

Still, it would be bad for business. You have to keep your workers motivated. I know Summitt isn't going anywhere, but if she did that would hurt our business more than it would help our business. That's my point.

By the way, no other real options?? I'm sure nobody would want Pat Summitt to come coach at their school.. That's a little out there.

They may want her, let's see who's going to pony up $1 mil to get her.

You would think the college basketball coach with the most wins ever, 6 NCAA titles, 15 Final Four appearances, 17 Final Four wins, 24 tournament appearances, 104 tournament games, & 87 tournament wins all within a 31 year period would get paid more than anyone. :D

c'mon guys you know how it is. You don't just pay a coach for what they're worth....you pay em as well to keep em off others payroll and coaching against you., that drives the bottom line up pretty high.

Sometimes it's about more than money. When you look at the titles and exposure she has given the school, when you look at the class act and coaching legend that she is, when you look at how hard she's worked for this University and how faithful she has been throughout the process.....I think it's worth a lowly $1 million dollars.

Pat Summitt is Tennessee, so I'll guess you'll have to work through that.

It doesn't matter if the men's program makes more than the womens.

I think it is fine. What you are all forgetting is the amount of money she brings in through donations! Pat deserves that if CBP and CPF deserve theirs. Now if you want to argue that all coaches are paid two much then OK. But all things being equal. CPS is worth a mill.

Now on the topic of are coaches paid to much. I think the fair market drives it. If they win they make you money. Big money. So with that I would say that winning coaches are not overpaid.
