Patrick Patterson

I know this seems hard to believe, but when you live in the same town as where the recruits visit and they're out on the town at the same time as I am along with other alumni, it's easier to get information.

I'm not sure what the hell talk radio and my internet have to do with anything.

I'm here on the weekends when the recruits are all over Oxford. It's not a big town. Their presence is very much known when they are announced in a bar or are being paraded around at a basketball game.

Are you suggesting none of us (UT fans) "live in the same town as where the recruits visit"? Do you think all of our information comes from the internet?

What do you think a kid is going to say while he is on your campus, with your supporters, with your players, etc? I haven't seen a kid yet say: "That place right there sucks!"

Your gonna have to come with something stronger than that.

We have no chance with PP because we got in too late.

But ya'll come in late and push UGA out of the way, and make it Ole Miss and UT for Marlon?

Confusing.

Pat Patterson and Marlon Brown don't have the same mom. I'm reporting what Pat's mom said. How is this confusing? Different folks, different strokes. Some kids make commitments late in the game to schools that came in late.

Look, I didn't come here to cause an uproar. There is more logic behind Marlon coming to Ole Miss. It's closer for his grandmother and his father so that they can see his every game. He can go home whenever he chooses and on weekends in the spring. We have a proven staff and a proven QB.

Other than the fact that Georgia and UT have recruited him longer and have had him as a top priority longer, no one on here has any evidence other than to assume that I'm making this up. Marlon contacted our coaches late in the game and Nutt jumped on it. He cancelled his LSU visit and came to Oxford.

I'll not make any more posts about it. If he chooses Georgia, I'll come back to this very thread and eat crow. But unless you have evidence of where he has recently said that Ole Miss is a distant third or fourth like Patterson's mother has said about UT, you can't legitimately refute what I'm saying.

Correction: This is my last post

No, where did I suggest that you don't have information if you live in Knoxville.

Someone (not sure if it was you or not) said that just because I live in Oxford makes no difference. Said that my Oxford internet must be different or that my crappy Mississippi talk radio was telling me false facts.

Without a doubt, if you live in a college town, you are able to actually speak to the recruits. Especially if they are in a bar where you are.

So no, I'm not suggesting anything like that. Whether it be Oxford or Knoxville, it's easier to receive info when you're around the recruits.

You must have a typo somewhere in that post.

Are those angels singing?

seriously, we all know Patterson's a longshot and has been for a while.

the kid has been pegged as soft-spoken, so I don't expect a great deal of enthusiasm out of him after any of his visits. we'll know more on signing day. I hope CLK makes his visit a memorable one.

And are historical bottom feeders with one semi-successful season the past decade....

you might want to sit this one out if you're going to say that.

with Cutcliffe there, they made multiple bowl games and had a 10-3 season ('03-04) with Eli as a senior.

then after finishing 4-7 the next year, he got canned and Orgeron took over.

they are a medicore program, though, and it's a tough place to win. which is why you don't see people lined up around the corner to take that job.

Sorry, I thought about the Cutcliff years but they seemed longer than 03-04....

I live in MS and work with a several die hard Rebels. They all seem to think that one good year means all the top recruits will poor into Oxford and since UT had a bad year they will get no top players. They also seem to forget who put that team together (CEO).

PharmReb is ridiculous...he's preaching hear-say and he-said-she-said in an Oxford bar, where, by the way, "they announce the recruits are there";which tells me he's full of shite....but we're supposed to believe that bs. Forgive me Reb for not eating a bullet because you say we aren't in contention for either of these recruits. I would believe orangenuts before you.

The Reb is right with his prediction of Patterson being an Ole Miss lean and Bama being a close second. Patterson will be a Reb, I'm almost positive. UT could change that with his visit next weekend, but as of right now it's Ole Miss out front with Bama trailing.

As for Marlon Brown, even Ole Miss fans are now contending that they really don't have a shot. So I don't know where that info is coming from.

Z Mason has me perplexed. I've said all along that I think he ends up at UT, but he isn't saying much from what I can gather. He certainly sounded more enthralled with his Ole Miss visit than his UT one.

The Reb didn't call him a lean, he called him a lock.(in no uncertain terms)basically saying there is no chance UT gets him. IMO, if that was the case right now, his visit would be futile. I think Ole Miss is in the lead, but not as far out as he makes it seem.

There are 3 or 4 WR, that have a lot of the same leaders right now. One commit, one way or the other could cause a shuffle. IMO

Another one of those silly rumors, but I will put it out there:

I have heard 3 people, 2 close to the Mississippi State program and one close to Ole Miss, from north Mississippi who say Patterson is moving towards Tennessee.
I mean they are not saying its a lock or anything, just that as time goes on he moves more and more towards us.

Could you imagine having Patrick Patterson, Marlon Brown, Gerald Jones and Ahmad Paige in a 4 WR set??

I get chills just thinking about that!!
