Patterson plunge?

At the end of this 4 month hype session, much of it spun by player agents, the teams must now decide who can help them now and who isn't ready. Patterson is a great athlete that isn't ready. A first round selection for him will surprise me. Most teams don't want to gamble or reach for a project on their first pick.
He is not a project he is a freak, he is the next Randy Moss a lot of teams that pass on him will look back and want to kick there self in the azz in 2 years.

:lolabove:Here are my hopes:

1. CP goes to Denver and he and Peyton win a Superbowl. In the process, they break every league record for single season QB-WR production. Over the next two seasons, The Manning to Patterson tandem becomes the most feared in NFL history, bringing Manning 2 more SB rings before he finally retires.

2. CP goes to Houston and teams with Arian Foster to bring H-town their first Superbowl.

I'd be good with either of these outcomes. HA! Go Vols!

After hearing for weeks how he was in the neighborhood of a top 10 pick, Don Banks of SI now has him going at #31--barely in the first round. I hope he does well in the NFL, no matter where he gets picked and by whom.

poor-mouthing to divert attention.....he will go in top 15 with those numbers he has put up.....:salute:

V's right about teams in the first half of the draft looking for sure things. CP is not a sure thing. He's a freak athlete, but he'll be playing against freak athletes too. NFL is a step up from college ball. How his athleticism translates to the big stage remains to be seen.

If CP goes in the first round, it'll be to a team in the latter half that can afford the risk of a project. And CP is definately a project. A WR that hasn't learned to run routes and read his playbook is a project. Everyone hypes CP as a great return man, but teams want more than just a great return man in the first round. They want a true positional player. Yes, the return game can make a big impact for a team, but CP's tape is of one season. Teams don't have multiple seasons of game tape to make a judgement call on just how good a returner he might be. He's high risk.

We can agree to disagree, but people need to take off their orange colored glasses if they want to make a fair assessment. He has tremendous upside, IF he pans out. Some team will take the risk based on potential alone, but CP is a boom or bust type player. Whether or not they'll take the risk in the first round remains to be seen.

Some playoff team is going to be very happy he is falling. The rich get richer.

Absolutely. He is the most talented player in this draft (at any position) and could be another Randy Moss type of player (far from certain this happens no matter who you are coming out of college, but with CP at least there is no question that athletically he has that special ability to make everyone who is defending him look silly - even at the NFL level).

It definitely would be sweet for the Broncos to take him if he's there when they draft......:salute:

He's too much of an unfinished product to go in the first round. He's probably more intelligent than Bray though.

I have watched highlights on about the top 15 WR in this draft. I'd still pick him first. No question.

Better athelete than Kelly Washington and more deserving of higher pick than him but not really a proven commodity - yet!

No way on earth CP falls out of the first round. I don't care how unimpressive he is in interviews. Dude can play.
