I've been trying to convince fellow Titans fans for weeks that we should draft him. I've never seen so much nitpicking in response.

We had an excellent offense--but also one of the WORST defenses in UT football history, and certainly one of the worst in the country. This was the third time in about a decade--or less--that we had an absolutely TERRIBLE unit cancel out the value of an excellent unit on the other side. In the other two cases, we had excellent defenses that had to compensate for laughably bad offenses. Sad. It also has to be sad that in the couple of games in which our offense had a chance to win an SEC game or tie late, it flopped. It pretty much flopped late in the fourth quarter, with the pressure on, all year.

How many did we score in the second half against Florida?
How much did we score on Bama?
How far behind Georgia were we before we started scoring?
South Carolina was our best offensive game, from start to finish.
Some of the football newbs will be blinded by us averaging 37 points a game, but we were not a fearsome offense, not in the least.

I don't care who you are or how you got there, 37 points per game is dang impressive. We had one of the most feared offenses in the NCAA. Don't let the incompetency of the D blind you to our offensive talent last year.

Bray is Ryan Mallett v2.0.

3rd Rounder. Maybe a team gets eager and drops a 2nd on him but I doubt it. I'd draft at least 4 or 5 of the available QBs before I looked at Bray.

Huge maturity issues, to me. His demeanor on the sideline (when NFL scouts want a QB to rally his team) was pouty when things weren't going his way. Not inspiring for the most important position on the entire team.

We're talking about strictly Bray.

In UT's 7 losses Bray went:

147-266 (55.2%)
1745 yards (11.8/comp, 6.5/attempt)
15 TDs
11 INTs

Those are not good numbers and they're definitely not inspiring to NFL scouts. NFL scouts aren't going to give 2 hoots about what Bray and 2 projected 1st Round WRs did to Troy, Akron and Georgia State.

Bray choked when it mattered and that can't be blamed on the defense. Even the statline for the vaunted Georgia game aren't that impressive. 53%comp and 2TD/3INT. Can't really pimp 44 points to a scout when you only contributed to 12 of them.

Because it helps recruiting. If TN has 3 drafted in the first round, it creates a buzz and gets TN mentioned a lot on draft day. If they go on and be successful in the NFL, it will also help recruiting.

If you are a young QB trying to pick between UT and another SEC school and you see Peyton is involved with UT, don't you think that might influence their opinion?

By the time the season comes to a close next year, no recruit is going to care at all that two players from a previous administration performed exceptionally well at the combine or that they might even be in the running for ROTY in the NFL. The current staff had absolutely nothing to do with their development or talent and with the brutal schedule next year, the only thing that will make recruits look at us is if we can show improvement and be competitive in some of those games.

Makes you wonder how our offense sputtered around so much in our league games with all this talent. Guess it is Dooley's fault. Or Chaney. Or Hinshaw. Maybe Fulmer is still to blame.

Hell throw in Kiffin too, he had to be involved somewhere too....

Doesn't matter who the coaches were, it creates a buzz about UT and that helps recruiting. It is just the publicity it brings. Anything positive helps recruiting.

There is no question the success on the field is the most important. But you asked who cares and why does it matter...

by the beginning of next February, it won't matter. Arian Foster getting drafted and doing so well has certainly paid off in the RBs to UT department huh?

Sorry, the franchise is becoming irrelevant. He needs to go to a franchise that plays alot in primetime and can have a national buzz. The fans last year dressed a lot like empty seating for most of the home games.

CP was the most electric Vol in Orange since Chuck Webb.

Of course he's going to freakin' rip it up at the combine and be a first rounder. He is absolutely phenomenal.

Shame we didn't do more with the talent we had. I normally don't like to beat a dead horse, kick a dog while it's down or add insult to injury, but Dooley......smh.
I am with ya that's what I have said , three probable first rounders , five or six in the mix for the draft and we can't win six games. As much as I wanted Dooley to work just not good

Okay. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I would prefer them to get drafted and do good because it certainly won't hurt.
