I'm not sure I'd trust that if I was a customer. Seems like he could just rip you off no problem.

Then again, I guess it is a TV show, so he's probably not pulling a huge scam on you.

Agreed. It's also amusing to watch them get beaten down and breaking for about 30% the value of what they just asked for, and then telling the cameras they are happy about it.

The best is when the Pawn guys screw up. Rick made a bad mistake once and it was funny to see him take heat from his son/dad for once. I think my favorite part so far was when Big Hoss and Chum bought a balloon.

I can never watch this show and not feel like they are taking advantage of old people who are collectors. All these people need to do is google and search ebay and get a rough idea that they are not getting half of what their stuff is worth.


Pawn Stars at least the people are coming in to get ripped off. With Antique roadshow they are telling people an honest appraisal. But these guys are just trying to take advantage of people's ignorance.

The Picker's seem pretty honest to me. I've seen them ask somebody how much they wanted for something and then offer them four times as much because it was worth much more.
