Pearl IS NOT going anywhere.

I think Coach is too high on the POTENTIAL at UT to be a big time bball school. He's always talking about our facilities as some of the best in the nation, he sounds like he has fallen into his dream job.

not saying that it will happen here, but really don't ever know....

Pearl's not leaving, I will have to hold him hostage if it comes down to that.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee fans (I use the plural form of that loosely) might disagree with that.

I don't really think that indiana is a better job than UT...It may just be me but they haven't been much for quite a while now.

Come on. Indiana has a lot of basketball history and tradition.

All I've heard all day is either Steve Alford or Randy Whitman. Alford is really in an awkward spot right now.

Not to denigrate our basketball program which is definitely on a huge upswing, but I think you're kidding yourself a little bit.

IU is a cult. Alford is their first choice, followed by Wittman/ Majerus in either order. It would completely undermine everything Pearl has accomplished to entertain a job he's not going to get.

i didn't say anything about their tradition...i just think that the opportunities for a coach there are much more difficult than they are at tennessee...the bar for success is much higher at IU...that's all i'm saying

Agreed. But I think the next guy will have MUCH more margin for error; especially if it's somebody from within the Hoosier family.

Why don't they just hire Isaiah Thomas? He's done such a wonderful job with the NY Knicks.

As I heard today, the clouds are rolling in and we could be in for some serious thunderstorms ahead. Brent Hubbs said that based on someone he talked to today, Pearl would be Iowa's #1 candidate if Alford leaves for Indiana.

Sounds like somebody is getting ready for a significant bump in income.

What's Iowa got that UT doesn't? A smaller arena? :p
Exactly. I don't think Iowa is a better job besides maybe the conference. It's all about the "ties" though.
