Nonsense. See Louisville vs Michigan State from the elite 8 a few years ago. Louisville had better athletes and what most considered better players. Izzo with his halfcourt game and defense laid the wood to Pitino's fast paced system. Instead of attempting to make changes and tweaking style to compensate, he stuck with you're theory and ended up packing his bags.

Hell, Kentucky last year is another prime example.

Louisville didn't play anything resembling a fast paced system that year. As a UK fan, you've ostensibly seen this with your own two eyes.

I realize that Pitino is generally associated with a fast-paced pressing style of play, but that hasn't been the MO of his Louisville teams.

They relied on the press, fast break points and a heavy dose of transition 3 point shots. I watched them all season, and I'm certain of what I seen. You might make the argument that its not as "fast paced" as past Pitino teams, but you cannot in good conscious say it was a half-court team.

I also watched as they chucked up shot after shot while Michigan State owned them in every aspect of the game. This was the actual premise of my argument, which is that he failed to make adjustments to his style to match Izzo's game plan, and subsequently lost.

I have seen many poorly written posts on this site, but this one reads like it was written by someone who was on the verge of losing consciousness.

I saw Louisville play at a slower pace than UK under Pitino or early Celtics teams and I can say that with a clean conscience.

Which is attributed to the fact that I was damn near ready to lose consciousness after 27 holes of golf, a case of beer and a healthy amount crown royal/sprite.

Funny thing is, my drunken babble still makes more sense than the crap you unload on this site on a daily basis.

I saw Louisville live that year against Oklahoma. In that game they were very much a fast paced team. Transition 3's and fast break sets the whole game.
