Jio Fontan to visit USC this weekend and visiting UT the week after that.

I've always been curious of what it would be like if Pellissippi State had a basketball team. If Pearl keeps offering these transfer/JUCO I just may find out.

There's a significant difference between Fontan and Passley/Prince/Maze/Goins. He can actually play.

I really hope we get him. I think he was mad when his coach was canned. Thanks for the post, I was hoping he might have interest but could not find anything indicating that he did when I looked.

Apparently he had interest in UT before we even offered him.
He's been trying to transfer since the end of last season. If Fordham would have given him his release over the summer, he never would have returned to Rose Hill. Apparently, he realized Whittenburg was an idiot before the folks in charge did.

Is he originally from the NYC area? As disappointing as I expect this season to end, I am very optomistic about next season with the Atl and NYC players coming in.

His roots are in Puerto Rico, but he played his high school ball in the tri state.

So he would be available before the SEC schedule next year, not the first of the year, correct?

There is more to this story. This kid has got some serious connections that make things even more interesting. I posted some information about it on Hoopsville, but after the mod over there monkeyed with my post, I deleted it.

Things could get very interesting in the next 4 weeks and this kid might be only the part of the glacier visible above water.

I'm less interested in where he played his college ball than where he was before that.

Tennessee's not going to start pulling a bunch of St. Anthony's guys. The Hurleys like Pearl only slightly more than I do.

Nice. The UK beatdown of Indiana sets nice with us but then there is Tom Crean. I like our chances. From what I've read, he likes to drive and isn't too good behind the arc. I would also think that Fordham was pretty weak last year, adding that in with an 18 y/o kid being the only weapon, he might do pretty well in other circumstances and a year under his belt. I like this.
