Pearl Grants Griffith's Wish

Exactly. Also, it's just plain stupid. Putting a guy in that can't dribble, can't shoot, is slow and unathletic, and can't create is typically not the answer at point guard.

Maybe he will at least get 1 point at the charity stripe. Goins hasnt been there since????

McBee sucks. Our Coach sucks. Our team sucks. Sucks, sucks, sucks.

NO! This forum sucks. It is over run with NegaVols. Hard to believe they are not all trolls.

Right. We ought to join the Failmer Kiss-Ass Club and start celebrating mediocrity.

You dont really believe that Griffth came up with that idea do you??

Seriously? Of course Griffith came up with it. Griffith gave a powerpoint presentation on the idea to Forbes during their weekly Girls Softball/Internet Conspiracy meeting at the Golden Corral.

Feel free to add some positive insight to the conversation, or any insight for that matter. Are you confident in McBee's abilities? Are you happy with the season so far?

Positivity would positively draw criticism. But I can tell you I feel better about the players and coaches and the quality of UT basketball than I have since about 1960 when you could still buy UT farm fruit and vegetables on Alcoa Highway at the Ag farm. Now you can dream that we might make the final four each year. We have a great chance to beat Kentucky and Vandy every year. You can bank that we will get to the Big Dance every year. Is it so new that only the youngest cannot appreciate it? Are there really so many experts out there that really think they know more basketball than Pearl? Or are they just a few people who post a lot and sound like a crowd.

That wasn't too hard, was it? :)

I don't think positivity draws criticism. I think most fans feel really good about what Pearl has done with the basketball program the past five years. Even the people who believe he should be fired over the 'AA issues will acknowledge his success.

That said, there is obviously some concern about where the program is right now. This season hasn't exactly been what many hoped for, and for the first time in a while there is some uncertainty surrounding the Tennessee basketball team.

Chime in often, positive or not.

This goes to prove that Coach Pearl is in a coaching quandry. He's trying to motivate Goins and maybe the rest of the team. Maybe he thinks that McBee can bring some field generalship to the half-court offense.
O.k., who the hell knows why he's doing this.:) I'm a Bruce Pearl fan and I'm sticking with him. The season is not over yet.:clapping:
GO VOLS!

Is Mcrae just terrible? What's the deal? I still can't figure out how McBee is getting minutes in the first place, now point guard? It's official Bruce is trying to get fired.

To answer Cartervol, my take is that Bruce is trying to make this a more productive season. McBee has seen time at the point. For whatever reason, we are not producing at that position, I think that is pretty evident. Mcrae is not terrible, also he is not a point guard and will not be a point guard. No reason to further screw with his head. McBee is expendable is my opinion and is therefore a better choice.

Apparently the coach thinks he is as good of an option as we have. Let's see how it works before we label it a stupid move.

I really can't understand how McBee is a better option at the point than Bone.

If Pearl is determined to give McBee minutes I'd much rather see him splitting time at the 2 and 3 than the point.

I believe they both have gotten practice time at point. Bone very well could get most of the point minutes tonight. I just don't get the assumptions in this thread that anything at point than what we have been doing will be a failure.

I believe we've sang this song before with Jordan Howell.

I just don't get it.

UT doesn't necessarily need him to create his on shots, or drive to the rim to score. He just needs to create plays for other players. He doesn't turn the ball over a lot, and with his limited minutes compared to other players to say he can't shoot is not fair. He has a better 3pt % than Tatum and Golden and very similar to Harris'.

We will have an answer tonight, if indeed he plays some significant minutes at point, if he can be productive. He and Bone really cant do much worse that Goins and Golden as of late.

I think it had more to do with Goins coming off the top rope and bouncing his head off the court and not being able to practice but then again, maybe not.

McBee and Bone playing for UK or Miss State now?

Or has the game been moved and no one told me about it?
