Pearl said Vols didn't run play that was called in final seconds, and he has no idea why. Wanted Hopson/Tatum taking Parsons to the rim.

Pearl said he didn't call timeout because they'd have scored if they just ran the play he called. He's furious at several things.

On the radio he is making a big deal about the inbound pass not going to the point guard.

That maybe true, but it seems to me we had plenty of time to overcome that.

if they arent running the play the coach called at the end then there is obviously an issue with respect.....something has to change! Players and coaches both!!

I don't understand why they would not run the play. CBP recruited all of them but one, and he helped create him. I mean, if they run that one play they win right? So why would they not do what he told them?

Maybe they just don't care all that much for what you have to say, Coach.

If he did call a play and they ignored it there better be somebodys arse on a silver platter come the next game or Bruce has lost control of this team.

Exactly. But this team has been blowing close games. A Bruce chewing out and line up shake up would just cause a meltdown imo. I think he knows this and is stuck on what to do.

You would think a college coach could realize pretty quickly that the play he "supposedly" called isn't the one that's being played. 15 seconds is plenty of time to realize this. Call a time out with 8 or 9 seconds to go who cares. Instead, you throw your players under the bus. And saying we "would" have scored if we had run his play is an overstatement. This yrs track record proves why. As a UT fan when the game is in the final seconds I pray to god we're the team up by 1, cause I don't want UT to be the one to have to draw up a play or have to score to win.

I think Florida scored with 11 seconds to go. By the time Pearl realized Tennessee wasn't taking it to the rim, he considered calling a timeout. At that point, however, there were only three or four seconds left and he decided against it.

I think it's 14.6 sec's to go roughly...

Forget the play calling.... make a dang free throw!!!!! There's a reason they call them "FREE". Unbelievable.

Should have taken control of the game once the technical was called. Should have never come down to the last shot. It was painfully obvious that Goins wasn't on board with whatever the last playcall may have been.

You got 2 timeouts, you call one to reiterate the play you want run, and what happens after that if time is left.

This team does not play very smart, (specifically late) not sure if Im BP I assume they understand what to do.

What makes this even more maddening is that this is the third(?) time we've taken a three as the last shot when a two would have won it or sent it to overtime.

I disagree. If he lets this go unpunished he is done. I was at a Clemson/ Duke game some 20 years ago ( man that looks old) and saw Coach K come unglued on Bobby Hurley for not running a play. He benched his all american gaurd for the rest of the game and Duke barely won by 1 point. With Hurley in they would have prob won by 20 but Coack K was in control and it showed.
