Nope, they lost to UK in the national semis. UK beat Syracuse in the finals.

I think coach Pearl has a bigger ego than he should, but I'd also agree he's made Tennessee basketball relevant again. Somewhere in that void between the 2...therein lies a discussion between a basketball coach and an Athletic Director...when we get one.

Bruce said exactly what he needed to say to get everybody to support him again. Nothing more than Public Relations 101 in my opinion.

Of course he's "radioactive" the week of the news reports. We'll see if it blows over or he's gets burned long term. Even so, it wouldn't be the first time a coach got a program in trouble, then landed another job somewhere else. Eddie Sutton did worse at UK and still ended up with a decent career at Oklahoma State.

so if I have read correctly, Bruce has an ironclad contract, no? can't be fired for just cause? what is it with Hambone and these contracts? he gets raped every time.

He straight up lied. It's amazing to me how quickly people go back to "Let's trust him 100%! We could never get anyone that's anywhere near as good! We need him or we'll never make a Tournament ever again! He didn't actually lie, everyone does it! It's all good!" Seriously, guys? Are yall that easy?
