I don't think he was taking shots at the crowd necessarily. More so, despite great crowds, our team doesn't elevate their game. I don't agree that a great crowd doesn't bother the opponent though.

I'll continue to support the basketball team even without Pearl. I liked them before and I'll like them after. I just find it hard to believe how quick everyone is to judge. While Pearl is out there doing, half of the 'fans' are sitting around crying.

If this team reverts back to the glory days of 3 tournament appearances a decade, a lot of you will deserve it. Then you can all spend your time complaining about a new coach that's not even winning. Win-win for some of you I guess.

I would love to keep Pearl, and like you I will still support UT basketball regardless of the coach. There has to be a punishment for his actions though. Whatever UT decides to do, I will support it.

No, I think he is saying that he hopes all the folks calling for Pearl to be fired are prepared to shut up when/if UT falls to the bottom of the SEC if it happens.

My question for the pro fire Pearl crowd is...

If UT chooses to stick with Pearl and not fire him, will you still support the University?

My guess is most will. Which doesn't support the, I want integrity first in my coach argument.

Again, I think he should be fired, but I don't think he will.

I've despised Bruce Pearl for some time, yet I write a check each year to renew my tickets. Won't stop that even if they inexplicably retain him.
His argument of us falling in the SEC is not a very good one. One out of six isn't the apex, I'd hope. If that's considered the top then let's stop paying elite money.

Per Bruce, "Teams that come in here have been good teams. The energy of our crowd has been great but it has not inspired our playes to elevate their games". The point being that the Team has not responded to the crowd! Frankly, this team has difficulty responding to more than just the crowd!!

I am incapable of not supporting my school, but I will be disgusted if we keep Pearl. I would rather lose 25 games a year for awhile than keep a coach who asked a high schooler and his family to lie to the NCAA for him.
