Pearl to Iowa??

Rip on the head coach, rip on the players, might as well go after the assistants now. Hey, Iowa could hire you? Oh never mind the State has already filled its quota of immature douchebags.

You've made it pretty clear how limited your knowledge is of the coaching staff at UT, I'm sorry they won't let you in the door but time to buck up and deal with it instead of attacking anonymously.
Apparently, Greg Barta agreed with my assessment.

Hatvol I'm glad you decided to bump this thread.

Maybe you can search for the post where I said Iowa was going to hire Steve Forbes..

Thanks.

If history is any indicator, I would agree

The old drunk is probably in for another decade and a half of early exits and hilarious DUIs.

Every time I see Huggins, I think he's an impostor who ate the old Bob Huggins. He's packed on some pounds.

If Pearl had UK's talent, he'd have the same record or better as calipari.

i don't have a horse in this race, but the vols team i saw in the ncaa tourney did not seem to lack talent. if anything i was very impressed by their athleticism.

Yeah, because he went so long without a regional final appearance after his last Final Four. Shouldn't you be building a crude shrine to Saint Pearl, being as that he now has the same number of Elite Eight appearances as Stan Heath and all?

Hatvol, found that Steve Forbes quote yet?
It's right there. When you interject your opinion into a pro or con debate, you're on one side or the other. Pretty sure you weren't on the Steve Forbes Isn't Qualified To Be The Head Coach At Iowa Weslyan side. Spin it how you wish. Anyone who reads the thread sees it for what it is, your typical Peal worshipping bleeding over to the can't get a job anywhere else crew that sits beside him.

No. But you should be busy finding that Steve Forbes quote. Or you can just go ahead and admit to telling a blatant lie.

i will admit i would like to see a clean team without a bunch of guys covered in tats, screaming after every basket, and then the gangs some of them are involved in. We need to build a team like northern iowa, we dont need to recruit uneducated athletes just because they can dunk, we should be targeting smart kids who may not be athletic but are capable of knocking down 3's.

I'm not sure who this Greg Barta character is you're referring to but I'm glad he agrees.
Whatever his name is, he'll get an extra year or two before he gets canned by hiring McCaffery instead of the number two assistant off the Tennessee staff.

While I disagree with you on the value of Pearl & Co., I've discussed enough other basketball with you to know you're smarter than that.

And you would be correct, I hate the hire.

Don't feel like fighting today though.

While driving through Southern Illinois yesterday listening to ESPN Radio, one would have thought they just brought in Coach K to take this job.

(Then again you would have also thought Tom Izzo has never been mentioned as a great coach by their network either.)

We're on the same side on that one. It's not that I don't think McCaffery's a pretty good coach, he's probably better than whoever St. John's is going to hire and is far more proven than Kevin Willard, but bringing a guy whose only ties to the midwest are a few years as a Digger Phelps assistant into the Big Ten is curious.

With the class Coach Pearl is bringing in, I think he'll stay and coach them to the Final Four and beyond. Let's just pay the man what he asks or demands.
