Saw this on Espn insider:

Nebraska's Bo Pelini may be the next high profile coach Tennessee pursues.

"Sources told Volquest late Wednesday night that Pelini had reached out to some to express interest in the Tennessee job,"

"UT athletics, Dave Hart speaking... "

"Hi Dave, this is Bo Pelini. Just wanted to let you know I'm interested in your Head Coaching position..."

"Click"....

That should be the response, but I don't have that much faith in Hart.

So does this mean he is:

1. an authentic HC that sees an opportunity to play in the SEC?
2. a player for more money?
3. just wanting to get out of Nebraska?
4. just getting his name out there for future opportunities?
5. something else?

at this stage, we get a little suspicious huh?

L'll throw this out then....

Didn't Butch Davis mention or hint he was interested in the Tennessee job. What if it did come down to those two?

Saw this on Espn insider:

Pelini must want a raise at Nebraska. He'll show enough interest in the job to get some press, wait on Nebraska to counter with more money, then take a big dump on Dave Hart's forehead like all the rest have done already.

Bo would be a good hire. Has SEC experience as a DC.

Just cause he lost to Wisconsin people don't want him? Those idiots will be stuck with Kirby or Butch Jones if they are not carefull

Offer him a contract. Tell him the offer doesn't leave the room. Sign it then or forget it. Tired of being a vehicle for increasing the net worth of coaches.

Need a raise? Having issues with job security?

Call Dave Hart now at 1-800-UTK-COACH

Bo Pelini has interest in the Tennessee job. Would he be a viable candidate? I know he was a D Coord with LSU several years ago.

at this stage, Pelini would be a very good get. Has won 9-10 games every year at Nebraska. Not as good a get as Bielema, but in the conversation, at least.

hmmm, let's see...an old guy who was fired recently and who even Kentucky didn't want or a young guy who has won 9-10 games every year playing in a major conference....hmmmm...

I think there is also room to consider that T.O just stepped down as AD and our very intelligent (sarcasm) chancellor Harvey Pearlman decided to hire Eichorst from Miami to take over as AD who has absolutely no ties to Nebraska and caught everyone by surprise.

Known for getting good DL recruits.. Key to win in this league.. Lincoln is an arm pit

He doesn't really have a bad record at NEB with 49-19. FIW he was Les Miles DC in Miles forst three years at LSU. They only lost (6) games in three years and won the NC in 2007 beating Ohio State. That's the same year they beat UT in the Sugar Bowl by the way hen we were heading to the Rose Bowl if we had on.

I just Hart has him on the radar or at least listen to him. Just hope it's not another ploy for some coach to get a raise which has hppened a lot lately.

Would hire him in a second. His resume SMOKES alot of the current options. Yes, that includes Charlie Strong.

The man coached 8 years in the NFL. 3 years DC in the SEC while having one of the best defenses in the country. 2 years DC in the BIG12. Never won less than 9 games in a season. Top 15-25 recruting classes to Lincoln Nebraska. If he did reach out to Hart with interest, I would hire him today. End this mess.

Yes, I know he got smashed by Wisconsin in their last game. It happens. He did BEAT Wisconsin earlier in the year.

Played at Ohio State. Has a Super Bowl ring from being on staff at the 49ers. Worked for Pete Carroll at New England and Mike Sherman at Green Bay. Coached at Oklahoma and LSU. Might be worth looking at.

Word has it he was slated for the Arkansas job, but after his Cornhuskers got rolled by the Badgers the Razorbacks changed their minds. I'd rather have Smart than this guy.

At this stage is right! What a cluster .... this has been so far. Not only is he a pretty good coach, his name would save some some face, too, so we don't have to name Jim Bob Cooter as our next HC.
