Pelini has reached out...

Word has it he was slated for the Arkansas job, but after his Cornhuskers got rolled by the Badgers the Razorbacks changed their minds. I'd rather have Smart than this guy.

I think the Soul Glo in your hair has absorbed into your brain and caused severe damage.

I think you are way off the mark. I would much rather have a successfull head coach with SEC, DC, and tons of wins under his belt than another Bammer Assistant Reject.

Your only reason not to want him is that he lost to Wisconsin? Sh$t happens. If I recall right, you wanted Strong even though he lost to KY, Syracuse, and Uconn.

Have some consistency.

Someone on TOS just said Pelini's buyout is 250 grand.

Better resume than CS and 2.25 million less buyout. Offer him the job at 3.5 million and let's hire the man.

Great, I loved his teams performance on both defense and offense in last weekends game against Wisconsin.

Wisconsin 70 Nebraska 24

He would be a great coach.......

Yeah, and Belichick's team got smoked in the Super Bowl last year. What a trash coach that guy is...

Would hire him in a second. His resume SMOKES alot of the current options. Yes, that includes Charlie Strong.

The man coached 8 years in the NFL. 3 years DC in the SEC while having one of the best defenses in the country. 2 years DC in the BIG12. Never won less than 9 games in a season. Top 15-25 recruting classes to Lincoln Nebraska. If he did reach out to Hart with interest, I would hire him today. End this mess.

Yes, I know he got smashed by Wisconsin in their last game. It happens. He did BEAT Wisconsin earlier in the year.

good post Lebanon! :good!:

The only ones thinking Pelini would be a bad hire are the ones still hanging on the notion Gruden is coming to Tennessee. Not gonna happen people. Pelini would be a really good hire. Yeah, we all know, he got rolled by Wisconsin. It happens sometimes. The guy has a really good resume. 49-19 is pretty darn good. He is a defensive coach, which we could really use right now. We could possible keep guys like Pitman and Graham on staff. He has never won fewer than 9 games since being at Nebraska. He makes $2.8 million so we could hire him without breaking the bank. Supposedly has a really low buyout. Not talking to Pelini would be the only mistake here.

I guess the old boy heard about Tennessee being in the spirit of the season and giving everybody's coach a raise

I'd be cool with Pelini AND Chaney as OC. Best option out there IMO

If Hart questioned his motives he could just tell him, "We would be willing to talk to you about our opening". "Get on a plane and come to Knoxville". If Pelini wants the job, he will pay for his trip himself. Not the usual way it's done, but would show his interest in getting the job.

Bo would probably be a good one and has some interest. It it strangely similar to the whole Kevin Steele rumors last year after the Orange Bowl.

"UT athletics, Dave Hart speaking... "

"Hi Dave, this is Bo Pelini. Just wanted to let you know I'm interested in your Head Coaching position..."

"Click"....

That should be the response, but I don't have that much faith in Hart.
The last time I seen Bo he was giving up 70 to a 7 and 5 team, take BJ over him.:eek:hmy:

I don't know much about pelini, just that he is extremely unattractive and yells a lot. Not saying hes not a good coach, what do you guys think?

If you guys hire Pelini, I can't see much more than a bunch of 8-4 seasons out of Tennessee.

I mean, that's better than it has been recently...but it will probably get old after a while.

Dude, you shouldn't talk about coaches, Ever.
