NCAA giving PSU back some scholarships and considering shortening their postseason ban as well.

Good move by the NCAA, as they never should have gotten involved to begin with. Hopefully they'll back off the postseason ban before too long.

EDIT: Mods, please merge.

Good for them. The sanctions were a massive crock of **** and the knee-jerk reaction by the NCAA with the Freeh Report was embarrassing and further goes to prove that Emmert has too much power.

That said, it doesn't help the NCAA's image problem to impose sanctions and then reduce them.

Agreed. While I'm glad they took this step, I'm having a hard time praising them for slightly reducing penalties that never should have been imposed.

I'm on the fence to be honest.

I understand why the NCAA felt compelled to deliver sanctions, it was the power and the need to keep the "program safe" that led to this coverup. While it's true it didn't have anything to do with football at the same time it had everything to do with football.

Not sure if what they did was wrong or right.

The only thing that really matters is that Sandusky and the people who protected him are hammered for their actions

And punishing the kids playing now does this how?

Happened in a football facility which is goverened bt the ncaa.. makes it their deal...

So, if I were to murder someone inside Neyland Stadium, you'd be totally supportive of the NCAA leveling UT's football program? Neyland is a "football facility" and all.

I would fully support the NCAA leveling bama's football program in this scenario.

Yeah, it's not like you went 4-9 the last time you were hammered by the NCAA...oh, wait.

We've won 3 national championships in the ten years since we got "hammered" by the NCAA.

UT had losing seasons in half of the ten years since Bama got "hammered" by the NCAA.

Make of that what you will.

That should be good enough to get us by this year's Tennessee train wreck. Try to keep up? It's like you don't have an offensive gear this year...........Oh, wait.

Are you a former coach??? And did the current coach know of your plans to murder someone inside of neyland?? And not go to the authorities? .. if so, then the program should roast. ..

So, if I'm a former coach and the current coach knows of my plans, but I commit the crime in the library or the law school building, then the NCAA has to stay out of it, right?

Nope.. you are an athletic coach.. and therefore are subject to punishment by the NCAA..
