Penn State scandal (merged)

Heard a good idea on the news. Don't punish the players, let them play in a bowl, but take all proceeds and profits that would go to the university and AD, and put it in escrow for the victims.

Players aren't punished, and victims get something out of it.

I don't know, it is kind of a tough call.

I can see that. I'd still probably be for them not playing.

Greg Doyle tweeted it and it is on MSN home page. I posted the link in the news thread

Not doubting what you said. Sorry if you took it that way. Was just saying the students won't be happy (not like it matters).

:hi:

Wow.

There is definitely more than we don't know.

Obviously I'm taking the word of a alleged multiple offending child molestor here, but I thought it was really, really telling when he said Paterno never went to him about the allegations.

They dont get offered a bowl, imo. No corporation wants to be around that Toxic mess

They may not have a choice. The bowls have a contract with the Big 10. The higher end bowls could skip over Penn St in favor of a lesser team, but they would have to be selected before a 6-6 team can get an invite.

I don't know the details of their contracts, I just assume no Corp would want their name anywhere near PSU and wouldn't want to bring any clients to that bowl game
