No matter what UT has tried to do in the last 6-7 yeats it ain't working. We've had 4 coaches 5 years and none have set a foundation to build on. Even Ole Miss and Miss St have shown improvement and made bowl games. Even vandy. It's valid for our frustration. Even Auburn has a coach headed in the right direction. Even if he loses 5 games next year he is got a solid foudation. If we can get a system to believe in then we would feel better. I think the fact that we never get a proven coach or up and comer says something. We always get our 5th choice.

Very interesting point in the midst of a very good point. I think we're all frustrated. Some of us see this lack of foundation and consider that maybe the current coach, who has no foundation to build on, shouldn't yet be the target of that frustration.

I just do get why poster do not understand this they keep pointing to Malzahn and he had a foundation of 3 consecutive top 10 recruiting classes to start with.

The "brick by brick" mantra was sheer genius. It's what is holding this recruiting class together. It's saying: "Yah. We're losing. You'll be the reason we win."

If this staff had started promoting: "Come here because we're great and you'll benefit from our greatness..." That would have been stupid. Because we are not great. Because we'll benefit from them.

Go out and read the recruit tweets. They're bought in. They're saying: "Wait 'til we get there, VolNation. We will be what turns this thing around for you."

And that's exactly what Butch sold them on.
