If the decision was being made by sane people, no.

I have heard rumors that Meeks and Patterson said they would not play for him next year, but they might come back if a change is made.

Even if that's true it shouldn't be enough to sway a sane person.

Here's an interesting exercise: Take his three top scoring games out of the equation and see what Jodie Meeks looks like statistically. If you allow that guy to hold your program hostage, you deserve to reap the whirlwind. My question about Meeks and Patterson is simple: Where are they going to go? There's no chance in Hell Meeks would be a first round pick and I have serious doubts Patterson would be, either.

NBA scouts, to my complete befuddlement, love Jordan Hill. He'll probably be a Top 15 pick.

These are the same people who are predicting Brandon Jennings as a lottery pick.

I have seen him play court level, last year. He is not a lottery pick and would have benefited more playing college ball than in Europe.

I have not ever been that mpressed by Meeks. His 54 was more a sign of our defense than his talent.

Patterson can't finish a college schedule without being hurt.

If they went they might be 2nd round picks, and that might be better than what they'll do next year given the weakness of this year's draft.

It keeps getting better. The Kentucky fans, who a week ago were ready to replace BCG with the head coach from Elliott County High School, are now saying that if the new coach is anyone other than John Calipari, it is a mistake to fire Billy Clyde.

I don't get their obsession with Calipari. He didn't want to go there 2 years ago, and he won't want to go there now after they have run out 2 coaches in 3 years.

I think alot of people are not thinking about the line up UK could have next year depending on who leaves and who stays at UK. They still don't have a point guard but with Patterson, orten, Meeks, harris and Porter starting. And Jon Hood, galloway, stevenson, pilgram and harrellson coming off the bench that is a solid 9 or 10 deep team. IMO BCG could have a great team.

I know Cal frequently name drops Kentucky in interviews, but given his incoming recruiting class would he really want that job?

Vilarano will be an upgrade at point guard. The juco that committed this week is at least as good as Porter.

Gary Parrish said something of this sort today on the radio in Memphis:

The Alabama job is Grant's to turn down but Alabama wants an answer ASAP. Grant wants to wait to see if BCG is gone (60/40 according to GP) and subsequently if Donovan takes off for Lexington so that Grant can possibly go for the Florida job. Grant can't wait too long though because Alabama will offer Mike Anderson the job Friday mornign should he lose to Memphis Thursday night.

Again, this is not my opinion but just what Parrish has gathered from his "sources."

He could take Cousins with him. Henry would ask for (and likely be granted) a release. Wall is still up in the air of course.

Then I guess Grant could go after the Missouri job. Not getting the Alabama Head Basketball Coach job isn't much of a threat.

pleeeeeeease let Donovan go to UK

No kidding. I think this would be great. Watching Pitino spank him annually would be sweet. Not to mention, Billy G is gone and Pearl has Donovan down. I doubt Florida would get better out of this either.

He could get them there. But re-opening recruitment is very very risky. That usually means they go somewhere else. It's hard enough to get them to commit to one school much less two. Xavier would probably go to Kansas since they were runner up to Memphis, and Wall would probably end up at Baylor since they have his AAU coach.

With Wall (since wall hasn't signed) meeks and patterson that would be atleast as good of a team at UK as Cal has at Memphis. And he would love the spotlight he would have on him at UK.
